Meta Portal TV - Big Screen Smart Video Calling for Group Calls on Your TV

Portal TV is without doubt the best device for video calling your near and dear ones.

Well - i mean, its Facebook Portal - does what it is supposed to do, offer video calling without having to hold your phone; and is a good item to have on the desk. I have a lot of remote family, so this comes in handy........with all that said: Its slow. The touch screen doesnt often respond. The initial update took almost an hour on a 1GB connection. Switching between apps is very slow. There is not a lot of apps you can dd to this. Doesnt support Apple Music, which most people have these days and only supports Spotify, iHeart Radio and Pandora..............with the exception of Spotify, most of the others are just not that useful. Story time is a nice feature, kids love it. But, the slowness.......man, the slowness bites. Still, it does what it is supposed to do, so i guess a good buy.

I bought this as a gift for my sister, She loves it, but I know nothing about it as I have never seen it

Have been using the unit for over a month. Purchased to talk with family and grandkids far away. The unit works great and has excellent video with an easy setup. I like the privacy cover for the camera when not in use. Tracks movement good but if there are more than one person, the video tracks the one with the most movement. I would still highly recommend this to use for Facebook video chats.

The Amazon features were slow and disappointing. After 8 months, it stopped responding at all. Now I guess its a limited photo viewer. Very disappointed with this product. Really not worth the money. Dont waste your money.

I cant believe I am saying this because my mistrust of Facebook is as high as anyone else, but the Portal TV is by far the most useful hardware I have ever bought from Facebook. It has struck upon a great idea which is that video calling on your TV when done cheaply is actually a great idea. And it is a very polished implementation of the idea. Its the perfect appliance for calling family members especially the elderly ones.

Dont like that you have to plug it in wherever you go

Alexa and touch screen very easy to use. Have not had to use Tech Support.
