I am happy with the handrail, it’s a great help when I need it! I have had to use them several times and each time I am happy that I can get up without help.

I remodeled a bathroom since my elderly mother was going to move in. This safety bar gave her something to grab onto when she first steps into the shower. I put a 12-inch grab bar to hold onto to step over the curb and a larger bar in the shower area. These are easy to install and are unobtrusive and do not make the shower look like an industrial care facility like so many of the stainless steel ones do. So think of your Granny... when she is nekkid, she will want a solid 12-inches of something firm to hold on to.

I’ve used this before, but had to return this one. Good quality, and short for use in places where the person just needs a small grab bar to get them up off the toilet. It doesn’t have a textured surface, however, so I always mount them at an angle.

Ordered two of these so that my brother-in-law can hold on to these bars instead of putting his weight on the storm door when he enters and leaves his house while using his walker. They are installed vertically so he can hold one while leaving and then hold onto the second one on the outside of the house. He has 2 steps between the house (a ranch-style house - one level) and the carport. One of the stainless steel screws sheared off just below the head, even with 3/8-inch holes drilled. That necessitated a trip to the hardware store to get a couple extras. Installing these requires a long screwdriver bit if they are to be installed using a drill-driver. Just one screw on each end is insufficient for an adults full weight.

I have wanted one of these in our shower for so long. It only takes one episode of feeling weak or a slip of the foot to turn into a major emergency. Having this grab bar gives a sense of steadiness and safety, especially if you are also using a shower seat. I cant take credit for the installation, however, I know it took less than 30 minutes using the screws. I love that it was available in different sizes and colors/finishes. We chose the white and it fits right in with our white tub and shower curtain. I also purchased the 9 inch grab bar and positioned it so you can hold onto it getting in and out of the tub.

This was purchased to be placed near the bathroom shower. It is safe, easy grab area to be used while dressing or undressing. It provides stability and security. It was easy to install on one vertical wall stud. The mounting flange for this unit made that possible and easy. With the varied positions of the holes, I was able to drill three 2-inch screws into one stud at both the upper and lower mounting piece. The screws toward the outside of the stud are angled slightly to allow them to really bite into the more central part of the stud. The cap piece covered the screw heads in spite of being angled. With 6 screws into the one stud, the grab bar is rock solid and no wobble. Nothing will cause this to fail ( I hope} Although this was added as a basic dressing aid, within 3 months a member had a problem with the onset of vertigo and it was definitely beneficial to have this in place. Another was then installed I in the toilet area to provide assistance going from a standing to a seated position and back to a standing position. I am considering another to be installed near the guest bedroom shower. The screws are heavy duty stainless and excellent. I did have some problem screwing them down as my screwing bit was a little worn. You really need to predrill the holes into the stud just a tad smaller than the diameter of the screws. The screws need to bite into the wood, so they do not pull out. If you have problems putting the screws into your pre-drilled holes in the stud, back-out the screw and apply dish detergent liquid on the threads or rub a bar of soap over the thread. It lubricates the threads. and may be enough to assist getting the screw into position. The screws are a larger diameter, and my best guess is a size 10. As I said these are heavy duty babes. Although I did cam-out while putting in the screw, the screw head was not damaged. Good screws! The price for the 12 inch grab bar was great, less than 14 bucks. Since both ends of this grab bar were placed in one vertical stud, I only used screws. This unit does not come with the heavy duty securemount that is used for support when the ends are placed into drywall. The drywall mount must be purchased separately. If you mount horizontally, I would suggest placing one end into a stud. The other could be supported with a securemount into the drywall. That saves you the price of one securemount which costs a little over $11,

We installed this in the head (bathroom) of our boat. It’s made a huge difference climbing out of the shower. Easy to install & super sturdy.
