> 3 dayI like that the mounting flanges have elongated screw holes, so that you can position the mounting screws where theyll do the most good. I was a bit disappointed with the paint job. It looked hastily done, with just barely enough paint at the ends to cover whats not hidden by the end caps. But once installed, the bar is sturdy and looks ok. To install this bar, youll want a stud finder to be sure youre mounting the bar securely. I installed this on a tiled wall, and a 3/16 glass and tile drill bit gave me suitably-sized holes in the tile. Once mounted, youll want to apply some bathroom tub and tile caulk around the inside of the end caps to keep moisture out. Now begins the test of time. Well see what condition its in in ten years.

> 3 dayPurchased this for my 84 year old grandmother who was having balance and arthritis issues to help her step into and out of the shower. She absolutely loves it, has made a huge difference in her safety while bathing. My boyfriend (who work construction) installed it, and it took him all of 5 minutes, super easy and secure when attached to a stud. My grandmothers physical and occupational therapists also loved it. Great product, function and it looks very nice in her bathroom. She was very concerned about her bathroom looking like “an old person bathroom” but the product is sleek and professional looking. Definitely recommend!

> 3 dayThis bar is the perfect size for the wall just outside my 77 year old mom’s shower. It is very sturdy and the textured grip makes it easy for her to hold onto while getting in and out of the shower. We’re both very pleased with this purchase!

Greater than one weekI was trying to buy the Peened model (I think it should be called knurled). Dont know how I ended up clicking on the Polished Stainless one. At any rate this style looked good so I didnt try to exchange my purchase. The bars (I bought two) look nice installed, as if they were there all along. I opted to use a Moen Secure Mount Anchor on each end of each bar instead of trying to mount one end of each bar to a stud. I have a stud finder that was fairly well reviewed but I dont trust it enough to work through bathroom tile...a mistake in tile would be harder to fix than in dry wall. The down side of this purchase/installation was that I spent more on a diamond grit hole saw and adapter, and 4 Secure Mounts than I did for two grab bars. I was a little apprehensive about making a 1 1/4 inch hole, the size required for the Moen Secure Mounts, in tile because of my past experience with short life spans of small diamond tipped drills, but my hole saw lasted through the task. Be patient and keep the cutting end of the hole saw wet at all times. Use a spray bottle or sponge. An if at all possible use a pilot drill and/or some kind of guide. My saw/adapter combination didnt allow for using a pilot drill so the task of making a large hole in a tile was more difficult than it needed to be but Im patient. Once the holes were made the Secure Mounts installed easily. If you decide to install your own grab bars, dont just install them because they look good in that spot, or thats where the picture shows them. Give some thought to how you will use them...getting in and out, or getting up and down, or both. If youre using short bars the location will be more critical. Make sure you dont have to reach, or lean too far, or twist to access them. If you feel awkward you may not even use them. That I gave this product three stars doesnt mean I think its average...it does whats claimed for it. And it just sits there. And I feel confident in it. It holds my weight and the intended user of these bars is lighter than me. I give myself four stars for locating them properly :-)

Greater than one weekInstalled 2 different sizes and these look and work great. Recommend Hilti anchors w/white plastic pull tabs available at home depot for sturdy install when you dont have stud directly behind.
