Moen R8712P 12-Inch Bathroom Grab Bar, Peened

First, you must locate two studs to install securely and for safety. If you cannot locate then hire a professional. After locating the studs, i applied masking tape on the wall so I could layout the holes. Unit is 18 inches but studs were 12 in apart, so I installed at an angle. You can install vertically if desired onto one stud. I have tile, so I patiently but firmly drilled holes big enough that the screw would fit through because I did not want to crack the tile when tightening.i drilled six holes, stopping after each one to check the next hole location before drilling the next. My rating is 4 stars because the polished brass color is close to a 14k gold color. It does not look bad, but the color is not the same as the polished brass fixtures throughout the bath.

Moens products are well built and easy to install.

Easy to install though I used different screws and anchors (anchors werent included which I found odd). I like the peened section.

Have yet to have installed but so far so good. Round size is just the proper size for both women and men. Hopefully we will install soon.

This bar is the perfect size for the wall just outside my 77 year old mom’s shower. It is very sturdy and the textured grip makes it easy for her to hold onto while getting in and out of the shower. We’re both very pleased with this purchase!

This thing is a beast. Installed it near stairs to my garage and it is awesome.

I am happy with the handrail, it’s a great help when I need it! I have had to use them several times and each time I am happy that I can get up without help.

I remodeled a bathroom since my elderly mother was going to move in. This safety bar gave her something to grab onto when she first steps into the shower. I put a 12-inch grab bar to hold onto to step over the curb and a larger bar in the shower area. These are easy to install and are unobtrusive and do not make the shower look like an industrial care facility like so many of the stainless steel ones do. So think of your Granny... when she is nekkid, she will want a solid 12-inches of something firm to hold on to.

We bought two short grab bars & one long grab bar & had themr professionally installed. They are so sturdy & strong and has a good feel to it when you grab hold. As senior citizens, we now feel so much better about getting in & out the shower & tub. Peace of mind*
