Moen R8712P 12-Inch Bathroom Grab Bar, Peened

Moen products are always good quality - this grab bar is sturdy, and doesnt look out of place in our home decor.

Great product, the best handles out there. Only one issue. The screws they send with them are the worst! Just throw the screws away they are junk. They strip everytime try use them. I have installed several of these handles, and every one same thing, stupid Phillips screws. They really need to put different screws in their packaging. The review asks suction power, I dont know why, these mount with screws. Phillips screws are the works for stripping out,and these are cheap. Dont use the screws. Get your own to mount it.

Moens products are well built and easy to install.

Put in shower for Mom. She likes it.

Added this bar and its 24 companion to the guest bathroom tub/shower when we needed to use that facility for a couple of weeks. While I did not install it myself, the contractor (doing other work in the house) who did it used my impact driver to do so. He used his tile bit but they are readily available at the big box stores. So, could have done it myself but got lazy. Pretty straightforward installation. Find the stud (hardest part), pilot the holes through cultured marble and sheet rock, and drive the screws (nice and long and heavy duty) in. Installed the 24 one on the back (long) wall of the tub/shower. Installed this one vertically on one stud just below shoulder height at the back of the shower, outer edge, where it is easy to grab as were getting into the tub. It has worked out very well for a couple of oldies to feel more secure (the peened rough surface helps with that) getting in & out, stepping over the edge of the tub. (I dont know why the form asks about suction as this bar is mounted with some hefty screws, ideally driven into the studs.)

I like this grab bar because it is peened for a good grip and it is a perfect match for my decor.

Easy to install. Extremely sturdy. Really aides on getting into the shower

I am happy with the handrail, it’s a great help when I need it! I have had to use them several times and each time I am happy that I can get up without help.
