Moen R8712P 12-Inch Bathroom Grab Bar, Peened

I used the grab bar in tub/shower. The finish and quality of the product is excellent and nicely matches existing Moen polished brass hardware in the bathroom. Item was attached to ceramic tile wall, backed by plaster and concrete board. I found the supplied 2 screws a bit short for attaching to wood wall studs, so I went to 3 #10 screws. I would highly recommend using a 3/16 carbide tip drill for a ceramic tile application ...as opposed to the recommended 1/8 drill size which is too small. Only reason for not giving this product a 5-star rating is the Escutcheon Ring ...when pressed against the wall, it loosely fits. The problem is easily remedied by applying a small amount of clear silicon caulk behind the top 1/2 backside of the escutcheon. Overall, I highly recommend the product ... worth the cost.

I purchased the Moen grab bars in glacier white to install in the tub area. I purchased the 18 in grab bar and installed it at an angle in the tub area so I was still able to hit the studs with my screws this grab bar is very sturdy and very nice looking and easy to install. This Moen grab bar is rated at 500 lb thats why I purchased a Moen grab bar the flange has plenty of holes around it for screws it also comes with a flange cover that covers all the screws that you have installed I couldnt be more pleased with the end product I would definitely purchase more of these Moen grab bars

This has made life much easier for a disabled person. We have a few of them in various rooms. A Handyman installed ours, but I think it would not be hard if you have the right tools.

I have wanted one of these in our shower for so long. It only takes one episode of feeling weak or a slip of the foot to turn into a major emergency. Having this grab bar gives a sense of steadiness and safety, especially if you are also using a shower seat. I cant take credit for the installation, however, I know it took less than 30 minutes using the screws. I love that it was available in different sizes and colors/finishes. We chose the white and it fits right in with our white tub and shower curtain. I also purchased the 9 inch grab bar and positioned it so you can hold onto it getting in and out of the tub.

Moen products are always good quality - this grab bar is sturdy, and doesnt look out of place in our home decor.

install could be easier for tight spots

Love these, bought. 3 to place around shower, didn’t think we would use them but we certainly do. And the peened part helps so your hands do not slide. Good price too.

Item is white, or, more accurately, off-white. I have a glacier bar . . . does not match
