> 24 hourI have hue lights in 1 home with the hub and they work great, I bought these for a vacation home where I dont have a hub, and the experience is absolutely horrible. 1. The Phillips hue app doesnt let you add a 2nd home! Which is such a ridiculous limitation considering the app has been around for 10+ years. 2. if you have a hue hub already on your account, the process for adding the Bluetooth lights is horribly unintuitive. You have to add a 2nd Hue system that isnt tied to your account, and then you have to switch between them in the settings to access each one. 3. Once you finally get everything set up with the stupid Hue app, and try to connect to your Google Home, it doesnt find the devices! I followed the instructions, read every troubleshooting page available, factory reset everything, re-downloaded the Google Home app, updated the firmware on the lightbulbs, tried on Android and iOS, and still it cant find the devices! Forget Phillips Hue, there are tons of other options for smart bulbs these days that work perfectly with Google Home, and dont need a hub. Save yourself the headache and buy one of those instead.

> 24 hourThe only con is that Hue is very pricey but is definitely worth picking up when its on sale, the ease of install and use of the lights is definitely a pro. Hue also offers integrations across different devices seamlessly and setting up your home can be a bit tricky with older iPhones. If you want something similar for a lower price I would recommend a different product if you dont mind the different ways the other apps off their service.

> 24 hourIt was very easy for my echo dot to connect to it. It works like a charm! You can have Alexa turn on or off the light when you have your hands full. Would recommend!!

> 24 hourI was looking into buying a sunrise alarm clock. Turns out the best brand is probably the same as these bulbs (Philips). However they’re not a cheap investment and honestly I don’t even want alarm sounds, just the light. I spent more time than I’d like to admit trying to figure out whether those clocks would have only the light function and no sound for alarms. Or DIY alternatives. As far as I can tell, the cheapest alarm clock models or no name brands don’t offer the light only alarm function. And no thanks I’m not DIYing anything like that. Then I stumbled on these lightbulbs as an alternative and I am SO glad I did not buy a sunrise clock!!! The Philips Hue App can set sunrise/sunset for your light bulb, and it can also be integrated with google. I bought this bulb “Used-Like New” so it was discounted and it still works perfectly. No regrets. In fact, I want more bulbs!!! A single bulb isn’t as bright as I’d like when I want it bright but I think multiple lamps would help. If you want happy/relaxing alarm sounds then you might actually want to invest in the nice sunrise alarm clocks.

> 24 hourManufacturing quality and materials are very good. Bulb is heavy, solid and feels like ‘a high quality thing’. I use direct controlling by original Philips Hue Bluetooth iOS app. Connection is very simple and intuitive. Controlling interface is goos as well. This is my first color smart bulb and I have nothing to compare. However it works really great for me. It’s 4 times brighter (1600 lumen) than my previous IKEA LED bulb (400 lumen) which is obvious when turned on—one bulb is enough for a bedroom. Changing light temperature is useful for switching between work and rest moods. Colors really changes the room vibe. Scenarios make it gradually change like sunset or dawn. With a smart home or voice assistant it should work even better.

> 24 hourI use these light in my bedroom and right outside the house for when I take the dogs to do their business. Makes life a lot easier telling Alexa to turn on and off these lights rather than walking all over the house to flip a switch.

> 24 hourFirst, the good things. This bulb does everything that I want it to do, and was reasonably priced. It shines brightly, dims appropriately, and talks to Alexa (via an Echo Dot) even through a ceiling fan globe. Now the bad...Based on the product name (Hue) I assumed this was a color changing bulb like my girlfriends. Bzzzzt! Sorry, that answer is incorrect. My bad, the product description clearly says White, so thats on me. However, setup was also a bit of a pain, and *could* have been disastrous. Following the included instructions, I downloaded the Phillips app via the included QR code. No problem, right? Except then they wanted me to buy a subscription (For a freakin light bulb? Yeah, right.) After I chose the Free version, they wanted my credit card info (purely for Verification purposes). I was born at night, but not last night. I immediately exited and deleted the app. Ultimately, I was able to get my Echo Dot to talk directly to the bulb without an intermediary. Would I buy this again? Maybe, if the price was right. Do I still feel confident in Phillips as a company? Not so much...

> 24 hourSo lets start with the fact that Im pretty high maintenance and my work setting is my Safe Space so I really require it be as comfortable as possible. Ive got some health issues so the ability to modify my environment, especially my lighting is imperative. With that understanding, here are the PROs. I purchased the two pack of these white/color bulbs for my desk and standing lamp in my office. I have an Echo set up in my office, and the Hue App on my phone. They are TOO much fun. The lights do exactly what they claim - all kinds of awesome color combinations, brightness configurations, and Im able to turn them on and off with my smartphone via bluetooth. I really do enjoy them. The CONs - Alexa doesnt seem to like my desk lamp. When I attempted to configure the echo to verbally command lights on and off, Alexa was happy to do so but only with my standing lamp (which is farther from the echo than the desk lamp which is less than 4 feet from the echos spot on my desk). I wont lie - kind of frustrated there. SO, I purchased a Hub/bridge thinking this might better help the integration in my office space (Please see my review of the Hub/Bridge for my displeasure at that outcome). Long story short - If you work at an institution or company, where there is a network, you may not be able to set up a Hub/bridge to do the extra magic or assist your echo in its job. Final resolution - I am still happy with the purchase. I simply use my Hue App to take care of my lights instead of my Echo. Minor inconvenience in comparison with the benefits of having control of my lights at any time. Again, TOO Much Fun! :)
