I didnt read, I thought I bought another color changing bulb. It a bit yellow for my tastes but it works well with my alexa.

Have many of these in the house in several rooms along with light switches and other smart home products. This attached to the Hue hub quite easily as they always do and so far it is working fine where it is placed. It is very nice that Philips came out with a brighter bulb finally. Since it is an even 100 watt equivalent its easy to figure out what wattage it is when you dim it by any percentage. Example would be if you make it 50% then its pretty much equal to 50 watts, 75% is 75 watts and so on! Alexa can turn this one on and off as I wish with just a few words. Just as a side note if this is in a socket controlled by a light switch get yourself a switch cover to help you not turn it off. These need to be continuously powered to work.

I was worried about pairing especially in an apartment with so many Wi-Fi options and users but it was a breeze. The app is very user friendly! I will be repurchasing when I get a bigger space!

Finally decided to purchase a Philips hue bulb after all the hype for years as this one is a reasonable price. Have been using various led bulbs ever since they came out when a standard none smart non dimmable bulb was $30. Anyway I am wholly unimpressed about it. Personally I think I can get a better overall light from other bulbs at a fraction of the cost. If you have to have the remote capability of this then maybe worth it however I am steering away from smart controlled bulbs due to their unpredictable behavior after a power cut.

Please note the Philips A19 white bulb only gives off warm, soft light at only 800 lumens. They are not very bright but are perfect for relaxing in the evening. If you want a brighter light choose bulbs with much higher lumens. The A21 bulb with 1600 lumens isn’t much brighter and has a warm glow. I find the white to be daylight bright on thewhite and color ambiance bulbs. The range includes cool bright to soft warm whites and all the colors of the rainbow! Regardless of the bulb chosen, setup is simple with the Echo Dot. I placed the bulbs in the lamps and told Alexa to discover new devices. Each bulb flickered once. Then I opened the Alexa app and renamed each bulb/device. It was that easy. These smart bulbs also work with the some home/office Wi-fi security systems. Outside lights can be set on an auto timer. No more forgetting to turn lights on or off! The bulbs are also dimmable. Just tell Alexa to adjust brightness by percentage desired. Since these bulbs can be pricey try to take advantage of any discounts.
