Philips Hue is a nearly perfect system and when coupled to a Hue Bridge, everything works nicely. I have some issues with the app but the lights themselves transition very smoothly and look good. I just wish they were a little brighter; when theyre set to anything besides white they arent as bright. Youll need to use extra bulbs if you want bright colorful scenes. They work better for coloring your home when the goal is a more intimate setting.

Got this for my little daughter who wanted a table lamp at her bedside. We absolutely loves it as now she doesnt have to manually turn on her room light when going to bed or when she wakes up. So convenient wit Alexa.

Update: it finally worked after so many tries . I’m glad I can finally use voice assistant. Yes the light is very brightness, and is dimmable. But it doesn’t work with google home. I asked help from Philip Hue customer service, did everything they told me to do, uninstall, unlink, turn it on and off so many times, but it’s still not able to connect with google home. Very frustrated. So if you plan to use voice assistance and don’t have a hue bridge, don’t recommend this.

Ok, I said seamless. It does take a little effort to learn how to setup the bulbs in the app, link to Alexa and to other control apps. I have more than 28 devices in my Smart Home. I have tried numerous bulbs from different manufacturers. My first set of bulbs came with the hub. Once I had the bulbs connected to the hub and configured in the Hue app and in Alexa, I havent experienced any issues that were common with other bulb types. I use them in my bedroom to automatically turn on when getting ready for bed and turn off after a preset time period. I like the fade feature after five minutes to gently turn off the lights. I can easily control them with a command to Alexa, use the Hue app, my Samsung Smart Things app on my phone and even on my watch!
