> 24 hourMy 2011 old MacBook Pro was actually so slow. It would take seconds if not minutes between key clicks or commands. The diags didnt report any error. The read/write tests said only about 14MB/sec I wasnt sure if it was the new High Sierra, my old MBP, or just a failing drive since it started to happen soon after I upgraded the OS. I decided to try this before buying a new MBP. OMG! My MBP is now faster and dead silent then even brand new. The read/write tests approach around 750MB/sec if I remember correctly. Filevault did its thing very fast where my old drive didnt complete after a week.

> 24 hourI just bought and loaded 15 of these 500GB drives and each one worked perfectly. No flaws from any of these from the manufacturer. Ive been running the previous released models (840 & 850 series) for several years and so far no failures either. I think these are top qualit SSD drives.

> 24 hourgood looking and nice design, however installing wasnt easy as i thought. the speed is good, but not super fast as i expexted. still the graphics with high resolution is a challenge.

> 24 hourMy second purchase of this type of drive. 2.5in 500GB SSD. It’s reliable and fast! Easy to install. And I highly recommend installing the Samsung software on your machine to optimize the drive’s life. And update firmware if ever it’s needed.

> 24 hourI like these SSDs from Samsung. They are affordable, fast and reliable. It is currently my C drive and I will migrate to my 2x Samsung 970 EVO 500GB - NVMe PCIe M.2 in RAID 0 soon.

> 24 hourThe SamSung data migration tool is also super convenient and easy to use. It took about 40 mins to transfer Windows 10 from my old HDD drive.

> 24 hourMy original HDD was running at only 5400RPM which made it even slower. The MOST difficult part of the change was getting the case open. After removing all the visable screws and the ones under the rubber feet the case still wouldnt open. I had to use a thin steel blade ( they recommend plastic but I didnt have one) and SLOWLY pry the case apart at the seam. This went slowly and you just have to keep going. Lots of plastic squeeks. The SSD change went very quickly. Putting it back together is again a verySLOW methodical process. The pieces fit together by snapping the pieces together. The SSD works GREAT. I went to the Samsung site and downloaded Samsung Magician and followed the instructions, easy and it worked flawlessly. Very much worth the time. It is very possible to do, just take your time.

> 24 hourA good product for upgrading a hard disk. Remarkable speed improvement (HP Envy/Windows 10) when booting up and loading applications. Downgraded because almost10% of SSD capacity held in reserve for possible future memory failures so its really a 910 MB drive, not 1 TB. Installation instructions could be better but I eventually figured it out. SSD mounting holes did not line up with sheet metal tray holes.

> 24 hourSamsung is known for making fast, reliable storage devices. The fact that you can get an SSD from a top tier manufacturer for this price is astonishing. If youre between this and the 970 QVO, get this as the QVO is a lower level, budget storage despite being next generation.
