> 3 dayI replaced the 500Gb Toshiba factory drive in my older Asus X53e laptop (purchased 2012) with the Intel i3 2310m processor. The machine was getting slower and slower due to drive errors, so I had to look at an upgrade, and it had to be an SSD. I was not going back to mechanical drives. I got the 500gb Samsung 860 Evo SSD drive. Install was extremely easy, took me a few minutes to pop back case, remove old drive and install new one. Longest time was spent on removing and putting back the 8 or so screws. I back up all of my laptops to external USB terabyte drive using Acronis, so it was a breeze to mirror everything over to new drive. I just used my Acronis Rescue Media CD to startup machine, hookup the external USB drive, specify the backup file and start the restore/recovery process. I let it run overnight and when I woke up, laptop started up perfectly from the new drive. The machine screams now, compared to previously. Still limited by older CPU, but it is like night and day compared to the old Toshiba drive. And for only $80, I consider that an affordable upgrade. I would highly recommend this drive, and you cannot beat Samsung quality. I am expecting long term reliability from this drive, but only time can tell that.

> 3 dayUsed for Windows 10, installed it with a separate installation kit, turned it back on and downloaded the Samsung cloning software. Used the software to clone my hhd to the ssd. Restarted windows and on mine hold down the delete key to start in bios mode and switched start up from the failing hhd to the ssd. I lucked out by cloning a 1 terabyte hhd to a 500 gigabyte ssd which I read later going to a smaller memory size hard drive has to be cloned to work because it wont recognize the new ssd being smaller if you try to reinstall windows 10 instead of cloning, a computer expert will have a better explanation but if I can pull this off so can you.

> 3 dayAde a huge improvement in my aging Walmart laptop. A little hard to get windows 10 on it, but definitely worth the effort. Also allowed me usage of more ram than my previous hdd. Good decision to upgrade.

> 3 dayThis drive was purchased to replace an 8 year old Seagate drive in Dell Vostro desktop. I have previously had a good experience with 850 Evo drive which was used to replace a 7 year old HDD in an HP notebook. In both cases, installation was trouble free and these SSDs literally breathed new life into the old and sluggish computers. I would highly recommend Samsungs 860 EVO and 850 EVO SSDs to anyone looking to increase the speed and reliability of their aging laptops or desktops.

> 3 dayMuch needed upgrade for my mid 2012 MacBook Pro. Replaces the factory 500 gb HDD. Used a basic/inexpensive SATA-USB 3.0 cable sold on Amazon, to connect it and clone old HD. MacBook Pro runs better than new. This is the real deal!!
