This speeded up my 4 year old desktop enough that I have stopped looking for a replacement computer. I use it as my boot drive and for all the Windows and program files. And the good news is, when I finally do get a new computer, I can move this SSD to there and get even better results. (Note that my computer is old enough that it only supports SATA-2, which limits my retrieval speed to only 3.0Gb/s. You need a computer that supports SATA-3 to get the full 6.0Gb/s.)

This SSD replaces my C:drive and is smoking fast in comparison. Although my motherboard is only a SATA II, I have an add-on card with USB 3.0 and two SATA III connections. I am now spoiled. Adobe Photoshop used to take nearly a minute to load and now loads in 10 seconds. PC Tuneup Utilities works extremely fast now. I look forward to updating all of my PC based on this great product. I highly recommend this SSD.

I purchased a new laptop and installed this drive. Its very fast- rebooting takes only seconds and I can quickly access any file on my system. Furthermore, transferring photos from a camera is much faster, particularly via USB 3.0. So far this drive has done everything Ive asked of it and has met my expectations in every way. While I have not pushed its durability (e.g. dropped the computer, etc.) I suspect it is much more resistant to damage than a traditional mechanical drive. I would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their systems storage.

I cant say whether this is the hard drives problem or not but my computer repair had to purchase another SSD drive to get my computer to boot. This drive is now a secondary drive but I dont know why it originally got corrupted and my computer wouldnt boot. Sandisk has always run well for me and this is the first issue I have had.

Very happy with this drive. I recently converted an older Windows XP system over to Linux and I could tell that my hard drive was the choke point in performance. I managed to catch this beauty on sale for $120, and I was happily surprised to learn it came with a 10 year warranty - I guess that SSD drives have really improved their read/write cycle longevity. Anyhow, I moved my Linux install over to this drive and it truly flies now - faster boot time, and much faster application load times. Even Netflix desktop running under WINE works fast. I would recommend this as a boot drive for anyone. (Fantastic for compact home-theater PC builds) It also makes a great laptop/notebook drive, or to stick into an external USB drive case since their are no moving parts - much more drop resistant, requires less power, and generates less heat than a drive with a spinning platter.

I installed this as my C-drive on a new Levono I7 PC with 16MB RAM. I took out the original HDD with Windows 8 installed and put my own copy of Win 7 OS on this SSD along with my programs. My computer is SILENT and SO FAST!!! Like all SSDs this drive makes no sound at all (no moving parts) and requires no fan cooling. The only trouble I had was adapting its tiny size to the 3.5 bay in my tower PC, which is a mechanical problem. I love this drive!!!

Great specs, but high price. Maybe worth it for the reliability, I am happy with this and will likely look into a larger capacity in the future I have usually had good experiences with this companies product and this was no exception. No crashes, but I would still recommend not relying on it %100 for backups.

I had been contemplating replacing my 6 year old HP desktop. I use this machine primarily for photo editing. I bought it with a AMD Quad Core processor and over the years I had upgraded the RAM from 8GB to 12GB. But with all of the large, resource intensive programs I had on the machine, my start up time had deteriorated to about 4 mins with an additional 15-20 mins where it was unusable due to McAfee running its initial scans. Then I heard on a photography podcast about upgrading my boot drive to an SSD. After doing plenty of research I decided that rather than drop $1200-1500 on a new tower, Id give the SSD a shot for less than a third of that price. Worse comes to worse, I could always use the SSD in another device if I still needed to replace my machine. So I ordered the SanDisk Extreme Pro 960GB drive since I needed the space. I used Macrium Reflect to clone my boot drive over to the SSD. This did take about 12 hours since I was using an adapter cable and USB 2.0 connection. But once it was done, the installation was fairly simple. Bottom line, wow!!! What a difference. My boot time went from 4 mins to 40 secs and the unit was usable within a couple of mins after that. Now my Lightroom and Photoshop applications start up in less than a minute where it was taking several minutes each previously. Im thrilled with the results and would recommend this change highly to anyone having similar issues with their computer. I cant say how much better or worse this drive is compared to any other ones, but I can say it has done wonders for my desktop machine and I feel like I can squeeze another few years out of my HP.

Being my first SSD I have no complaints. Boot time for my windows 10 5 year old computer is about 50-52 seconds.Amazing difference in computer speed when you add an SSD. By adding an SSD you also lose the spinning sound of a traditional HDD which makes your computer much quieter. Adding an SSD to an older computer can be challenging and I had to do some research but it was worth every penny. Dont forget to download Sandisk SSD dashboard from their website after installing as it is a useful utility.

So so good. Has decreased my boot time, maybe 80%. Programs load faster, seem to run better. Miss the constant noise of the hard disk, and at times I still have to check to see if my computer is still running. I am currently playing with ram disk, and I have yet to able to tell if my computer runs faster with or without ram disk. Overall feel like this purchase might have been a good investment. I bought this disk because of the ten year warranty, putting out almost $500.00, for a new toy, the warranty gives me a feeling of security. Right now, I would buy this toy again.
