> 3 dayI bought this to upgrade my desktops drive from an HDD to an SSD to take advantage of the speed increase. Let me just say, it makes a world of difference. Programs launch much quicker and the computer starts up and resumes from sleep much quicker. My only note is that if you are planning on putting this in a desktop, buy a 2.5 to 3.5 drive adapter so that you can mount it in your case, as desktop HDDs are 3.5 inches and SSDs (including this one) are 2.5 and they will most likely not fit in your case. But this drive itself is AWESOME! The included SanDisk drive utility is also really useful for figuring out specifics about your drive including the life left in it.

> 3 dayUPDATED REVIEW: Initially rated 5 stars, now revising to 3. I initially purchased this drive and had issues with it after about a year of use. Sandisk replaced the drive and I was happy. Now the replacement is exhibiting issues with bootup where my macbook sometimes cannot detect the drive. Its a different issue than previously, but Im getting fed up with having to reinstall the OS and restore my files from backup due to faulty SSD hardware. Thank goodness Sandisk has a 10yr warranty, but twice having to replace it is unpleasant. When the drive works as advertised, the speed is still great. Will not choose Sandisk again in the future for an SSD Solution. ------------ INITIAL REVIEW: Purchased a couple years ago for my Macbook Pro, along with more memory. This drive performed incredibly! Unfortunately, after about a year of use, I started to notice corruption, and slower read times. The drive went bad. Thankfully SANDISK provided a replacement extremely quickly AND my backups were current. 10/10 would purchase again.

> 3 dayLet me start by saying i run this drive as the boot and holds most of my music that i listen to. It still shows 100% life remaining on the SanDisk dashboard. no problems with startups or shutdowns. i keep a battery backup on so no power drops. I bought this drive in 2015 and payed $350 new with 10 year warranty. here are the spec on my use from the dashboard. Power on hours : 23783 Power cycle count : 514 Program fail count : 0 Unexpected power loss count : 77 Temp : 82 F / 28 C Media Wearout Indicator : 0.71% ********* AMAZING ******** Available reserve space : 100 % Total GB Write : 8420 Total GB Read : 17438 Total GB NAND Write : 21876 Temp throttle status : on I keep the drive at about 50% full. If I go over 60% i usually swap some music to my Ultra II drive. Never a problem from that drive. In this day and age it nice t find a reliable and affordable drive.

> 3 dayBeen using in my primary computer for about 4 months now, works great so far. The real test is to see how long it will last before failing. A previous model lasted about 5 years. Im hoping this one will last 10+ years and if not, I can get it replaced under the amazing 10 year warranty! Only complaint I have is have to register to activate the warranty.

Greater than one weekThis is a great SSD! The speed boost that you get when you change from a HDD to SSD is unbelievably fast and different.I purchased this SSD about 2 years ago and it is still going strong! One of the best upgrades that I have done to my laptop. I used to hate turning my laptop off, because of how long it would take it to boot back up. With this SSD the computer boots and shuts off in less than 10-15 secs compared to over a minute and a half for the HDD. This SSD comes with a long 10 years warranty, which is a plus! If you are thinking about upgrading to an ssd, DO IT! It will be one of the best performance boosts that you can do.

> 3 dayThis is the best SSD drive I have ever seen. I really did my research before I decided to get one. My old SSD drive was only 150 gigs and not nearly as fast as this one. I kept getting messages saying that I was running out of space. I wanted to get the best SSD drive out there and this one was ranked as one of the fastest and I also loved the size of the SSD drive. It was so incredibly easy to install. First I got a cable so I could plug the SSD drive into my USB port and then I formatted the drive. I then cloned my drive C and just swapped the drives. The old Drive Im going to hold on to and use it as a back up just incase anything should happen. I dont think anything will happen they give a 10 year warranty and they wouldnt give a warranty like that if it wasnt any good.

> 3 dayAVOID!! I purchased 2 of these drives. The first failed within 1 week. SanDisk sent a replacement. The second (the original, not the replacement) then failed 4 months later. Thats 2 out of 2 failed! Usage was mostly just read. There is clearly something wrong with this model. Infuriating for such an expensive drive. I have several of SanDisks 480GB Extreme II drives and had no problem with those. But SanDisk has lost a customer. I am buying only Samsung from here on out. No problems with the Samsung 850 Pro 1TB and 850 Evo 1TB. Given the Samsung firmware fiasco with the 840 Evo, I was trying to avoid Samsung. But Samsung drives have never failed like this. UPDATE: now it is a year later 11/17/2015 2 out of 2 of the replacement drives also failed. Now today, yet another failed. Every single 960GB drive I have purchased, or have been sent as a replacement, has failed. These are running windows virtual machines on esxi (mostly read, not as server, are used as web browsers). I have never had this problem with any of the Samsungs or other brands I have used. This is totally unacceptable. I wasted $1,500 on these drives and untold hours having to reinstall, take the hardware down, etc. Never again.

> 3 dayWorks flawlessly with my Gigabyte GA-Z97X 3 motherboard. Very quick load times (comparable to my old Samsung Pro 850 drive. I used Marcium Reflect to clone my existing spindle-based HDD to the SanDisk. So I cannot attest to the SanDisk cloning software that you can download from their website. For the price, this SSD is really a no brainer. Im very, very happy and plan to buy more for other machines in my office.

> 3 dayThis is STUPID FAST!!! Had to get it for my new Dell Laptop. The new Inspiron 7000 series with the new 4K screen is very slim and sleek. Highly recommended if you are in the market for a new laptop. Only downside is the SSD drive I had in my old laptop is too thick. So kind of a bummer had to buy another SSD. Decided to go up to the 480KB from teh 256 Curcial Technology drive that I had. Great drive too, but this is a few notches above it. Windows 8 loads in 5 seconds flat on this thing. Absolutely nuts! The reviews seem to indicate this should be a solid performer and have great reliability. Time will tell on that end, but I can assure that the speed is there! Is it worth the extra $50 or so to upgrade form the Crucial? That I leave up to you, for me I would rather spend the extra money and know I am getting the best. But I have two Crucials and they have both performed admirably, just decided to try SanDisk this time based on the online review magazines. Highly recommended.
