Pros: Fast out-of-the-box, reliable, warrantied, decent amount of space Cons: Slows under real conditions, no cable included I ordered this on January 8, 2016 from Amazon.com LLC after my previous SSD, a

I had to add a third solid state since I had filled up the 500gb model I had with games and my main drive is only for windows. Its fast with a small footprint compared to the standard hard drives I used to use which is true of almost all solid states. Having a third drive did slow my boot time slightly but only enough to barely notice, compared to other computers it is a fast boot up. Its a good solid state drive and am happy with my purchase.

Its added up to a good chunk of cash, but this is the second 960GB SanDisk Extreme PRO I have bought. The first one Ive valued so much, that I took the plunge (while the prices have been VERY low!) for another. The main aspects of this drive that I really value: It should last over the long-haul. Its 960GB instead of 1TB for a reason...and thats partially due to durability. That, along with it being designed to sustain its performance over a much longer period of time, and Im pretty pleased with the long-term usefulness of this. Will faster SSDs become more common over time? Of course. But this unit is already very fast, and thats even for heavy video & image-sequence usage. Ive had some hard drives for years and years, and I think this will be an even more solid investment for a long time to come...with long-term durability in mind.

Bought this to replace a cramp and aging (much more expensive at the time) OCZ Vertex 3 128GB on my personal rig. Although it isnt a move from conventional hard disk to SSD but I can clearly see the difference for my day to day computing and the occasional gaming. Boot up is clearly faster and smoother. I dont ever bother with benchmarks anymore as most good stuff are pretty well reviewed and I caught this at a bargain price. Very happy with my purchase.

I cant say whether this is the hard drives problem or not but my computer repair had to purchase another SSD drive to get my computer to boot. This drive is now a secondary drive but I dont know why it originally got corrupted and my computer wouldnt boot. Sandisk has always run well for me and this is the first issue I have had.

Holy cow this is a game changer. Not only was it quick and easy to install (and Im no technical magician either) but the results far exceed my expectations. Toshiba Satellite Radius P55W laptop with dual-core i7 Intel processor and 8 GB of RAM now boots up in under a minute and apps launch instantly. My laptop (1 year old at the time of this writing) is good but is known for its slow mechanical hard drive. I am still in disbelief. No issues with the cloning process. I closed the case, screwed on the cover, booted up the machine and the speed boost was instant with zero glitches.

This hard drive has great transfer rates. I really liked that Sandisk has software that lets you be in control, when youre running Windows 8 they recognize that the prefetch/superfetch, trim, and disk optimization is handled automatically by the OS so they dont walk you through redundant tweaks. The channel saturation is very nice, it keeps the sata 3 running at its highest capacity. The disk is stable, and the 10 year warranty is great peace of mind. If I run into any issues Ill update this review, but so far Im impressed by the speed and ease of setup.

I had been contemplating replacing my 6 year old HP desktop. I use this machine primarily for photo editing. I bought it with a AMD Quad Core processor and over the years I had upgraded the RAM from 8GB to 12GB. But with all of the large, resource intensive programs I had on the machine, my start up time had deteriorated to about 4 mins with an additional 15-20 mins where it was unusable due to McAfee running its initial scans. Then I heard on a photography podcast about upgrading my boot drive to an SSD. After doing plenty of research I decided that rather than drop $1200-1500 on a new tower, Id give the SSD a shot for less than a third of that price. Worse comes to worse, I could always use the SSD in another device if I still needed to replace my machine. So I ordered the SanDisk Extreme Pro 960GB drive since I needed the space. I used Macrium Reflect to clone my boot drive over to the SSD. This did take about 12 hours since I was using an adapter cable and USB 2.0 connection. But once it was done, the installation was fairly simple. Bottom line, wow!!! What a difference. My boot time went from 4 mins to 40 secs and the unit was usable within a couple of mins after that. Now my Lightroom and Photoshop applications start up in less than a minute where it was taking several minutes each previously. Im thrilled with the results and would recommend this change highly to anyone having similar issues with their computer. I cant say how much better or worse this drive is compared to any other ones, but I can say it has done wonders for my desktop machine and I feel like I can squeeze another few years out of my HP.

An amazing drive!, it gave new life to my good ol Macbook Pro Late 2011 w/8gb ram. Ive been using only for about 24 hours but here is the review: the drive is so fast that the computer feels faster than when it was new, I can even preview my 4K videos recorded from my phone and also fixed the photos app crash while trying to import a bunch of said videos. (it seems the old original drive was on borrowed time) The only downside of this drive, and the reason of the 4 stars instead of 5, is that the software to update the firmware is windows only, thus, not possible to use it on a mac (or linux for that matter).

AVOID!! I purchased 2 of these drives. The first failed within 1 week. SanDisk sent a replacement. The second (the original, not the replacement) then failed 4 months later. Thats 2 out of 2 failed! Usage was mostly just read. There is clearly something wrong with this model. Infuriating for such an expensive drive. I have several of SanDisks 480GB Extreme II drives and had no problem with those. But SanDisk has lost a customer. I am buying only Samsung from here on out. No problems with the Samsung 850 Pro 1TB and 850 Evo 1TB. Given the Samsung firmware fiasco with the 840 Evo, I was trying to avoid Samsung. But Samsung drives have never failed like this. UPDATE: now it is a year later 11/17/2015 2 out of 2 of the replacement drives also failed. Now today, yet another failed. Every single 960GB drive I have purchased, or have been sent as a replacement, has failed. These are running windows virtual machines on esxi (mostly read, not as server, are used as web browsers). I have never had this problem with any of the Samsungs or other brands I have used. This is totally unacceptable. I wasted $1,500 on these drives and untold hours having to reinstall, take the hardware down, etc. Never again.
