> 3 dayThe drive works great and is very fast, but a couple comments- It arrives unformatted so remember to first format it when installing it. Second if you want to register the drive with SanDisk write down the serial number before installing the drive. While the SanDisk web registration page says enter the Product Code it actually requires the serial number. I found this out after installing the drive and did want to then have to disassemble the computer. While some companies put the s/n on the box, SanDisk does not. Also no software is included and must be downloaded from the web. As is common these days, the installation instructions are skimpy and in very fine print. Four years later and it still works flawlessly.

Greater than one weekWorks flawlessly with my Gigabyte GA-Z97X 3 motherboard. Very quick load times (comparable to my old Samsung Pro 850 drive. I used Marcium Reflect to clone my existing spindle-based HDD to the SanDisk. So I cannot attest to the SanDisk cloning software that you can download from their website. For the price, this SSD is really a no brainer. Im very, very happy and plan to buy more for other machines in my office.

> 3 dayI recently bought a new 21 1/2 iMac with a fast processor but only 8GB of RAM. The performance was quite disappointing. As a professional software developer, I make heavy use of my machine, running several applications at once for coding, testing, and editing graphics. The iMac was constantly swapping out memory to the slow internal hard drive and it was KILLING me! On the advice of co-workers, I purchase this drive, along with and external USB enclosure. I then set it up as a bootable drive, and restored my back from Time Machine. With the drive plugged into one of the USB-3 ports, the machine boots in about 30 seconds (instead of 3-4 minutes) and comes up to the desktop in about 10 seconds after logging in. Testing with the Black Magic Disk Speed Test, it does about 400 MB/s write and 425 MB/s read. This is roughly four times faster than the internal hard drive. Also, I can keep open three browsers, three different development environments, two graphics editors and two virtual machines and the iMac doesnt break a sweat. Very, very pleased!

> 3 dayIt dropped $50 since I bought it January 26, 2015 but I dont care because it was worth it to breath new life into my aging 2008 MacBook Pro. My system bus is the only thing that keeps this from truly ripping as I have sata1. Nothing I can really do about that as I also maxed out the ram to 6Gigs despite Apple saying it would only take 4Gigs. My reboot time is around 55seconds as compaired to it being closer to 5 minutes or so w/the 7200RPM drive that it shipped w/from Apple. I only wish I had done it sooner. There are many other SSD drive options w/better storage for the buck but none w/ a TEN YEAR WARRANTY or even close. That was the clincher for me and that I have had SanDisk products that I have had good luck w/in the past didnt hurt. But it was definitely the TEN YEAR WARRANTY that hooked me.I even bought an iosafe just so I could get the longer warranty and data recovery after having had sooooo much lost data over the years (on my systems and systems in studios I recorded in/worked in). Did I mention the TEN YEAR brother scratching WARRANTY that this comes with? Ahhhhhhhhhhhh yea. The only reason I havent ripped out my Super Drive and put one in that space as well is that my system architecture wount support it :( It was relatively easy to install. I watched a bunch of utube videos and took it super slow and got some canned air and cleaned it out while I was in there. Oh ya my whole system runs cooler and the drive fluctuates from 90s to low 100s when I am really pushing it on a hot day. Also my battery life is way the fuzz longer (like hours longer) than it ever was. So in many ways it was like jumping up to a newer computer. I will get another one at some point to run as one of my external/backup drives (the 960GB if the price dropps).

> 3 dayUPDATED REVIEW: Initially rated 5 stars, now revising to 3. I initially purchased this drive and had issues with it after about a year of use. Sandisk replaced the drive and I was happy. Now the replacement is exhibiting issues with bootup where my macbook sometimes cannot detect the drive. Its a different issue than previously, but Im getting fed up with having to reinstall the OS and restore my files from backup due to faulty SSD hardware. Thank goodness Sandisk has a 10yr warranty, but twice having to replace it is unpleasant. When the drive works as advertised, the speed is still great. Will not choose Sandisk again in the future for an SSD Solution. ------------ INITIAL REVIEW: Purchased a couple years ago for my Macbook Pro, along with more memory. This drive performed incredibly! Unfortunately, after about a year of use, I started to notice corruption, and slower read times. The drive went bad. Thankfully SANDISK provided a replacement extremely quickly AND my backups were current. 10/10 would purchase again.

Greater than one weekGood replacement for my EVO 850. My EVO 850 was a very fast unit except for one particular application: writing email in my gmail account online. Each time I would type, I had to wait seconds to see my text appear on the screen. I found nothing on the Internet that explain such phenomena. Everything else was blasting fast with my EVO. Following a friend idea, I ordered this unit, cloned the content off my EVO 850 onto it and gave it a try. With my naked eye this unit is very fast. There is plenty of benchmarking data for that available out there to tell you if it is faster than the EVO 850 or not. What was important for me was to be able to use my online gmail account like I was used to. And it did. Im very happy with that swap. As for my EVO 850, I got it re-purposed in another rig where Id enjoy its fast speed.

> 3 dayThis drive is freaking awesome. My computer (Early 2011 Macbook Pro with 4 GB RAM, 2.3 GHz i5) just went from dying DOG to flying GOD. Here are some of the observations, after swapping out the stock Hitachi 5400 rpm drive with this one: - Write speed of 480 MB/s and - Read speed of 520 MB/s (based on BlackMagicDesign Disk Speed Test, so take it with a grain of salt) Pros: - The PRO version provides the higher write speeds, almost double of regular drives - 10 year warranty (vs 5 years max. of the competitors) Cons: - None really (although some may argue the higher price, but the Pros stated above justify that IMO) Tip: Assuming the general idea for buying this is to improve your computer speed, you should consider looking at how much RAM you have and if your system is starving. In my case, Activity Monitor was showing that 4GB ram was maxing out so I upgraded to 8GB. With my normal usage which includes using Adobe Photoshop and illustrator, my RAM consumption was contained within 6GB, so the 8 GB RAM upgrade added a nice boost as well.

> 3 dayI did a side by side of two Dell e6540 laptops (brand new, same image, specs, etc). Only difference was the SSD and the HDD. The HDD was getting around 100 MB/s seq read and 95 MB/s seq write. On the SSD I get around 515 MB/s seq and 485 MB/s write. The SSD system is very snappy whereas the HDD will spin frequently. I went with this SSD over the Samsung based on the reviews from Anand Tech and Toms hardware. I did check prices today however and the Samsung 850 EVO 250GB is only 89 bucks. I bought this one last week for 130 but it is 119 today. If money is tight and youre trying to get the absolute biggest bang for your buck, you might want to look into the Samsung but if you want the best, I dont think youll be disappointed in this at all. If Anand and Tomshardware recommend it and claim its the best, you cannot go wrong.

> 3 dayWorks as advertised and was easy to install. Used the clone program referenced by another purchaser - Macrium. Very fast at sata3 and still fast at sata2 (180 MBs on old pc). Programs and files load almost instantly and should make the old desktop pc useable for the next couple of years. The old 500gb drive is used for DATA and the new C-Drive is used for the operating system and programs. I did not want to remove the DVD drive so I just put it in the same mount. It fit perfectly between the DVD drive and the cage around it.

> 3 dayThe warranty on this drive convinced me to go SSD, and the 960GB size let me replace the spinning magnetic 1TB drive in my PC without losing much capacity. To replace an existing disk you will need disk cloning software and a USB3.0 to SATA 6G cable / adapter. I bought the IO Crest adapter, and used (the free version of) Reflect by Macrium. It did work - on the second try. The first try failed in the middle. The second try succeeded probably because I left my computer completely alone while it was in progress. Now, to the review: the speed up in boot time is quite noticable. The speed up in Adobe Photoshop Elements loading my Catalog of over 1000 photos into the Organizer is more than noticable, its amazing. The monitoring program that comes with it (SanDisk SSD Dashboard) is very reassuring. Right now it shows that the drive is in good health, has 100% of life remaining (ie, has not used any of its spare blocks) and its internal temperaure is 77 degrees F. It is quiet, cool, and lightning fast. In summary: I should have done this sooner!
