> 24 hourAfter researching bicycle locks, chain reviews and bike theft videos, being on my 4th bike, living in NYC. Im happy to own this chain now. Its not too heavy, its what is needed to prevent it from being able to get clipped. Plus I got some exercise being able to do some bicep curls after unwrapping it. Along with the chain I got the Kryptonite Evolution Series 4 Bicycle Disc Bike Lock and feel my bicycles safe. Of course its important also where exactly and how to lock the bike. Theres still the seat and front wheel to consider. Perhaps another U-lock for the front-wheel.

> 24 hourWow! Ive got to lock my bike unattended in a basement common garage. Now that Ive got this chain (and a very heavy duty disc lock), I have no worries leaving my bike alone in the garage. The cinch loop is surprisingly helpful, as it allows me to stretch out the chain a bit from the wall, looping the cinched end through my frame and wheel and locking the other end to a concrete wall anchor with the lock. Note: this is a very heavy chain, so itll be a workout if you want to carry it around instead of just leaving it locked in place.

> 24 hourThis is a strong, and strong looking, chain for the things you really dont want walking off. It is heavy... but all the links seem strong and the welding appears to be top notch (I hope its never tested). Ive combined this with the Kryptonite Evo 4 disc lock and use it to lock my motorcycle to posts around the city without issue so far. The noose aspect is GREAT! It easily allows you to wrap the chain to a sign or light on the sidewalk, and still have enough to reach over the curb to your bike. In a garage I can noose it around my actual frame and attach it to a ground anchor. The chain itself is sleeved, which is great because A) it doesnt scratch your bike, and B) makes it quieter and easier to carry in either a bag or wrapped around the pillion seat. Ill update this review if I have an issue with the chain down the line.

> 24 hourThis chain is beefy! Love it. My only regret is that I did not get one that is a foot longer (that is my fault of course). Update - still love this chain. It stays perm. attached to my bike rack and I lock up my pricy mtn bike when I have to leave it on my car. The lock would be the weak part of my system, however, most crimes are crimes of opportunity and it is not easy, they wont bother.

> 24 hourA substantial chain with just about the right length for reasonable situations. BIG DOWNSIDE: the sheath is not long enough and will scrape the crap out of your bike. My bike is for transportation and it is brand new so I dont really care, but you might want to look into getting some sort of supplemental sheath. The cinch link is great- let you maximize the length and simplifies locking. I think this is a great lock to go with it... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004Y8CA/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_34

> 24 hourThis chain is a beast but weighs in at 7lbs/2oz. Not the 5lbs advertised. Seems way to heavy to drag around for a standard bike. Will try with my ebike but likely to exchange for something closer to the 5lbs advertised

> 24 hour19 links, 20 if you count the ring. the sleeve can be made to cover 13 of them. whole thin dimensions of each link: external: 44x75mm internal: 20x52mm dimensions of ring: external: 75mm internal: 51mm the hexagonal stock used to make the links is about 12.5mm across the flats, 19mm across the points. the innermost and outermost circumferences are flats, not points. A real beefy chain, 3kg on the dot. pretty sure no bolt cutters are getting through these, and probably a couple minutes with an angle grinder. its pretty much guaranteed to not be the weakest link of your security system, so make sure you get some good locks to go along with it, and use them properly to secure as much of your bike as you can. A nice feature of the cinch design is that its easy to use multiple locks, as each one only has to go through one link somewhere on the chain. Ideally, use locks that are each vulnerable to different kinds of attacks. Really good value for money, compared to the big brand names.

> 24 hourSo these are HEAVY chains. Surprisingly heavy. I really do think they are probably overkill in this 12mm size for most purposes, but for what they are, they are nice. The cinch ring is really a great idea, giving you more length with less chain. I got them to secure some very expensive mountain bikes if they need to be left reasonably unattended. They could steal the vehicle easier than they could get through these chains. They are also annoying, in that they are unwieldy and a pain to actually use due to their size and weight. Unless you are SURE you need this level of security, I really think I would consider going down to like 8mm, but you cant go wrong with these Schlage chains (which I have heard are the mfg for Kryptonite chains as well).
