> 3 dayJust the right size! I use this to secure my trailer to the welded hitch of my truck. I got a large stainless steal lock that I lock to the chain hole on my trucks hitch. I lasso the tongue on the welded parts where they come to a tip of a triangle with the chain and slip the chain into the large ring and pull towards my truck. I figure with this and various other locks on the trailer itll dieter a thief to look for an easier target.

> 3 dayAs a point of reference, this lock is so heavy that it destroyed the box it came in. While Im using it to lock up a small motorcycle, Im sure it would also serve to secure a bicycle, a moped, a jet-ski, or nuclear launch codes. Its so heavy that you may not need to actually secure it to a post, thieves will just look at its massive links and despair. I bought this because of the noose portion which allows me to secure the motorcycle to objects that are further away when compared to a chain that doesnt have that feature. On a more serious note, I appreciate the nylon sleeve that helps to keep this from scratching things its attached to.

> 3 dayThis security chain is massive and heavy. I bought this to secure items at our RV when we are away from camp. Nothing is theft proof, but this chain will require them to spend a lot of time and make a lot of noise. And noise will wake up my two guard dogs, Smith and Wesson. Their bark is almost as bad as their bite!!! The chain is triple heat treated, 1/2 inch hexagonal sided links, and is made with manganese steel. The hexagonal links thwart bolt cutters as well as the extra strength from heat treating. And manganese steel is resistant to abrasive cutoff wheels. It can be cut, but time and speed are a thieves enemy (along with my two dogs, Smith and Wesson).

> 3 dayThe 39-inch version is 7lbs, not 5lbs as claimed. I am not a welder but the welds look okay to me.

Greater than one weekHoly Cow! I read the specs on this chain but did not fully appreciate the heft of it until it arrived. We have had our kayaks stolen twice from our dock and decided enough was enough. We added this chain (and a couple of cable locks) to them and just the appearance of it is enough to ward away the bad guys. No problem putting very large padlocks through the chain -- the links are enormous. The cinch/loop link at one end means you only need a lock on one end, although for maximum usage of the full length you may want to use locks on both ends. Five feet sounds long, but it gets short once you wrap it around a post. I will try to remember to update this review after a few months to describe the chains ability to withstand the elements since it is sitting on a dock on a saltwater river.

> 3 dayHoly crap this thing is huge. Definitely not something for a bicycle ride... Maybe a motorcycle or leaving at home to lock overnight. I bet you could lock your whatever in the worst neighborhood in Russia and they wouldnt touch this chain. The week link would be the lock or whatever your locking it to. I have returned it due to its weight and size. I have no use for this as its just too much security and not light enough to bike with.

> 3 dayIt is impossible for a criminal to break this chain unless they were Superman mixed with Thanos. They would break the lock before this chain. And its uber heavy. Like heavier than any baby.

> 3 dayA big, robust, cool piece of chain. I love the sound the links make. Rings like a fine medieval sword making a perfect cut. That said, it’s just too heavy for a bicycle. I got a ulock at the same time just to compare and the ulock won because it’s lighter for the same security. Hookup flexibility is less with the ulock but that trade off is fine for my needs. I’m keeping the chain though. I’m going to use it as a wall hanger for my sword.
