Schlage 12mm Cinch Ring Security Chain (No Lock)

Greater than one weekA substantial chain with just about the right length for reasonable situations. BIG DOWNSIDE: the sheath is not long enough and will scrape the crap out of your bike. My bike is for transportation and it is brand new so I dont really care, but you might want to look into getting some sort of supplemental sheath. The cinch link is great- let you maximize the length and simplifies locking. I think this is a great lock to go with it... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004Y8CA/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_34

> 3 day19 links, 20 if you count the ring. the sleeve can be made to cover 13 of them. whole thin dimensions of each link: external: 44x75mm internal: 20x52mm dimensions of ring: external: 75mm internal: 51mm the hexagonal stock used to make the links is about 12.5mm across the flats, 19mm across the points. the innermost and outermost circumferences are flats, not points. A real beefy chain, 3kg on the dot. pretty sure no bolt cutters are getting through these, and probably a couple minutes with an angle grinder. its pretty much guaranteed to not be the weakest link of your security system, so make sure you get some good locks to go along with it, and use them properly to secure as much of your bike as you can. A nice feature of the cinch design is that its easy to use multiple locks, as each one only has to go through one link somewhere on the chain. Ideally, use locks that are each vulnerable to different kinds of attacks. Really good value for money, compared to the big brand names.

Greater than one weekHoly crap this thing is huge. Definitely not something for a bicycle ride... Maybe a motorcycle or leaving at home to lock overnight. I bet you could lock your whatever in the worst neighborhood in Russia and they wouldnt touch this chain. The week link would be the lock or whatever your locking it to. I have returned it due to its weight and size. I have no use for this as its just too much security and not light enough to bike with.

> 3 dayAfter having my storage unit broken in to 2 times I purchased this chain Kept thieves away. I saw attempted hack saw marks and bolt cutter marks that barely scratched the metal. I use it in combination with a very durable shrouded lock.

> 3 dayVERY sturdy. People just laugh when they see it because its so ridiculously heavy and sturdy. The covering tends to hike up the chain but with a little effort it comes back down.

> 3 dayThis chain is beefy! Love it. My only regret is that I did not get one that is a foot longer (that is my fault of course). Update - still love this chain. It stays perm. attached to my bike rack and I lock up my pricy mtn bike when I have to leave it on my car. The lock would be the weak part of my system, however, most crimes are crimes of opportunity and it is not easy, they wont bother.

Greater than one weekI bought this to lock up my and my wifes e-bikes when they are attached to our bike carrier. Its long enough for my situation and it certainly looks beefy; I hope Ill never find out if it stands up to a bolt cutter attack. I also got this lock, because of its molybdenum shackle: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001V5IYWE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. It BARELY fits with the chain, which is actually good since that leaves minimal room for a bolt cutter to attack. (It fits pretty easily through the loop, and just barely through two links.)

> 3 dayI returned defective ABUS chains which do not have elongated end link and get two of these so I can USE my ABUS shrouded locks. I deduct a point since they do not make chain longer than 5ft so I will have to buy two and weld together.
