> 3 dayI use this chain to lock up my mountain bike. I dont have any worries about anyone cutting through it (without power tools). Although realize this is not a very portable chain. Id be hard pressed to put it on my bike and take it anywhere, unless I was in a high-crime area.

> 3 dayDont cheap out, this chain is worth the investment. I use this is my bike chain with a good boron shackle lock; heavy as hell, but I just wear it like a sash. I wish it had a velcro strap at both ends of the sleeve instead of just the cinch end, but I understand the design decision.

> 3 dayAs a point of reference, this lock is so heavy that it destroyed the box it came in. While Im using it to lock up a small motorcycle, Im sure it would also serve to secure a bicycle, a moped, a jet-ski, or nuclear launch codes. Its so heavy that you may not need to actually secure it to a post, thieves will just look at its massive links and despair. I bought this because of the noose portion which allows me to secure the motorcycle to objects that are further away when compared to a chain that doesnt have that feature. On a more serious note, I appreciate the nylon sleeve that helps to keep this from scratching things its attached to.

> 3 dayI work as an overnight delivery driver in a major metro. I also like to ride my motorcycle to work. Naturally, I worry about my bike wandering off while Im out on my route. I decided to get a loop chain and disc lock in order to discourage would-be thieves from absconding with my means of conveyance. I looked at sets but found them to be grossly overpriced. After much consideration, I decided to purchase this chain and a Krypotine Evolution Disc lock. The chain is heavy and feels strong. If anyone has tested it, I wouldnt know, since my bike is still mine. Further, by purchasing the chain and lock separately, I was able to save a few bucks. If I had to gripe, Id say that the ring is a little too small and it binds up when you try to cinch it tight. Not a major issue, I just have to bend my lazy butt over and work it through. Also, they weight is a little much to carry in your backpack, I just keep it in my locker at work.

> 3 dayThis is a reasonably priced security chain that works well as an additional security deterrent for a utility trailer in storage. The chain is applied around the axle on the inward side of the leaf spring and the end link of the chain fitted thru the wheel with a padlock, to secure the wheel from turning. A small amount of grinding to the wheel opening allowed one chain link to just fit thru from the back side of the wheel. A Stanley S828-160 CD8820 Shrouded Hardened Steel Padlock was then used to secure the wheel from turning. Wheel Locks and a Proven Industries 2516 Hitch Lock are other great deterrents used...

> 3 dayJust the right size! I use this to secure my trailer to the welded hitch of my truck. I got a large stainless steal lock that I lock to the chain hole on my trucks hitch. I lasso the tongue on the welded parts where they come to a tip of a triangle with the chain and slip the chain into the large ring and pull towards my truck. I figure with this and various other locks on the trailer itll dieter a thief to look for an easier target.

> 3 dayThis chain is everything advertised and is beyond the solid chains you think you are buying! I use it to secure my yeti and so far so good! Awesome sleeve and security chain to have

> 3 dayAs said in the title, the pictures on the product page, doesnt do this chain justice. Its some seriously heavy duty chain. The bottom chain in the attached picture is 3/8 grade 43 binding chain, and its dwarfed by the Schlage security chain. The welds and links on the chain I received were perfect. Some of the reviews said they looked inferior, but not so on this chain. The description says that the chain is 5, but the one I received is a good 6 longer than that. I would highly recommend this chain to anyone.

> 3 dayI bought two of the 39 chains for locking up a generator and plate compactor. I figured I needed 4-5 chains, but the cinch ring design of the Schlage frees up a lot of wasted, looped length. I combined the chains with Stanley CD8820 padlocks (50mm version). For the generator, the shackle was just *barely* tall enough to close with two links of the Schlage chain through it (the cinch end wrapped around a deck post, the other end wrapped around the generator frame). On the plate compactor, I didnt have enough chain length to loop through it, so I had hoped to lock the last link directly to its lift bar. Unfortunately, that bar is ever so slightly thicker than the chain links and I couldnt close the shackle, so I had to go with a longer, less secure Master Lock I had laying around. So, keep that in mind when sizing locks to the thickness of the chain. These chains are likely to deter most thieves, just based on appearance, let alone the heat treating. I doubt they would try bolt cutters on them. Ill be doing some metal reinforcements of the deck posts to keep them from being the weak link to cut through. Someone would have to want the stuff real bad to bother with an angle grinder. Highly recommended product! I might get one of the 59 chains for the trailer next, although thatll be a tough reach.

> 3 dayI havent tried to cut it, but it sure does appear to be bolt cutter proof. You can tell its make of a more hardened material than normal chains.
