Sennheiser HD 598 Special Edition Over-Ear Headphones - Black (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

First high end headphones Ive owned. Used for 2 weeks so far and its been great. Super comfy and great build quality. I wasnt sure about the sound at first because it is an open headphone, but I think it has grown on me.

This Sennheiser is the second I have bought since the first was stolen and I have tried to make do ever since. Bought these and am delighted with the sound. Playing WMA PC files from Groove (download) using Focusrite Scarlet 2i2, the lows are clear and instrument separation over a sound stage in the mid feel open, almost as if music came from Mission speakers (with out wall echo) The top end, precise, I found sharp sounds in dance music tracks Id not heard before, the range in the peak top end - awesome - even for my ageing ears. They are comfortable too, the music stopped an hour ago while I worked and I forgot I had them on. The cable is long, I like this on Sennheisers (a shorter cable is included in this special edition, if needed for the standard HD598s you will need to buy a compatible cable, sold separately.) The build quality is very good, there are no squeaks when I turn my head like other headphones Ive had in the past. These are open backs providing airy sound, but, these do not isolate in noisy environments.

They do great in both music and video games. They give you a nice neutral sound for anything you need.

The first step in audio. HD 595s 120ohm were my first pair and Ive found them to be vastly superior to this model which became mass produced in ways, Id say beyond the 50 ohm impendence, a slighter lack of refinement which engages purchases in the higher end spectrum. The finish is good, yet Ive found the older model to be much more anlytical yet the impedence plays a large part. By all means, these headphones will positively create your own music experience from the right source. Would buy again, no competition.

I must say that out of all the headphones ive ever used before, these are the best ive ever used for all spectrums of life and music. Bests buy ever. The seller was super fast and it came early. Thank you for being so good.

Ho acquistato questa cuffia leggendo prima le recensioni, come sempre ce ne sono positive e negative, purtroppo o per fortuna il suono riprodotto è abbastanza soggettivo. È però indiscutibile la qualità che si va ad acquistare a quel prezzo (119.90€ hd598 SE) sono veramente ben fatte sia esteticamente sia costruttivamente, il cavo è intercambiabile in base alla lunghezza che si desidera (compresi nella confezione) non si sentono scricchiolii delle plastiche, sono comodissime anche per ore. Sono compatibili sia con smartphone sia con tablet ed il suono è ottimo. Il massimo per il momento lo sto ottenendo collegandole con amplificatore harman kardon e giradischi rega, suono pulito e bassi ottimi ( vanno bene anche con altri dispositivi digitali). Vorrei solo provarle con amplificatore dedicato per cuffie, comunque anche così la musica è di tuttaltro livello rispetto a come ero abituato, un bel passo avanti.

Les moins : - casque ouvert, donc pas nomade (aucun filtrage des bruits extérieurs) - nécessite une source sonore relativement puissante (sans pb, car mon baladeur audiophile Fiio X3 II possède un sélecteur de gain pour casques (2,6 ou 8,6 dB)) - il ne supporte pas les enregistrements de qualité moyenne (à réserver plutôt pour CD ou FLAC) pour révéler tout son potentiel Les plus : - sonorité remarquable et restitution équilibrée du spectre sonore - confort et légèreté - aucune fatigue auditive même après une écoute prolongée - casque ouvert, donc une qualité de restitution et une absence de pression sonore rarement aussi bonne avec un caque fermé (sauf peut-être en très haut de gamme ???) Nota : Deux câbles (3 m et 1,2 m) fournis avec un adaptateur pour fiche mini-jack 3,5 mm, cela permet de le raccorder à mon Fiio X3 II comme avec un intra auriculaire pour lecteur MP3 (1,2 m avec fiche mini-jack) Mon tiercé gagnant Fiio X3 II + HD598SE chez moi et Fiio X3 II + Fiio EX1 silver (intra auriculaire) à lextérieur. En conclusion, un excellent casque audiophile à un prix ultra compétitif (99 euro) qui se marie très bien avec le Fiio X3 II

Arrivate stamattina con la consegna Prime. Le sto rodando da tutto il giorno e non posso che trovare sempre più pregi cambiando dispositivi. Queste cuffie hanno una particolare tridimensionalità del suono che permette di sentirsi completamente immersi anche senza uninsonorizzazione (che è del tutto assente). Lunico difetto sono i bassi, che davanti ad un amplificatore sgranano un po. Il comfort delle cuffie è buono ma sinceramente stringono un po troppo per i miei gusti. Consiglio lacquisto di queste cuffie per un budget al di sotto dei 200€ Edit: dopo un mese di prova, posso dire che essendomi abituato a queste sennheiser non riesco ad ascoltare musica con altre cuffie per la differenza abissale di qualità.
