Sennheiser HD 598 Special Edition Over-Ear Headphones - Black (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

Let me start off by saying if any of you are thinking of getting the m50x by audio technica over these please read this. I own the m50x myself and these sennheiser 598s in both the closed and open back versions (598cs if interested in looking up the closed backs) I purchased the closed backs first on accident meant to get the open backs and didnt even realize they sold a closed back until I received them. I will say the closed backs sound just like the opens just a little, very little less soundstage, hard to notice at first but they are by far the best set of closed backs I have tried. I am blown away by both I havent touched my m50s since, I thought I was still going to use them for movies because everybody says they have better bass than the sennheisers what do you know people attached to brands rather than quality will believe they have a great product because of the name on it and what other people say about it. The m50s definitely have a place out there for something Im sure but if you arent sure you love them then try the sennheiser first you wont be disappointed. I have tried the open backs with music of course, gaming on Xbox one, and movies I give them 5 stars in all of those categories I think Im going to adventually get the 600 or 650 and sell off all of these sets I currently own.

My best pair of headphones by far. The sound quality is just superb. Had them for over a year now and despite me dropping on the ground them daily, they still hold up perfectly. They are very lightweight and great for long term use or bringing them outside of the house with you. I find them to be more stylish than other headphones in the same price range. It has an amazing airy sound stage, but a noticeable lack of bass so it may not be ideal if you listen to bass heavy music. Very comfortable and well worth the money, especially if you wait for a sale which happens a few times during the year.

They rest gently on my ears, even after a couple hours of use. In fact I almost forgot I still had them on. The sound is great, neutral and very detailed, I could hear things I havent been able to with any other pair of headphones. Although keep in mind that because theyre open back headphones theres allot of sound leakage and people around you are going to be able to hear what youre liatening to

adapter does not work well with iPhone 6 Plus. Have to remove the remove the case. Terrible base response. The earphones produce too many highs. There is also little to none outside noise blocking

My favourite-sounding headphones. It sounds better than than my Sennheiser HD 598 CS, Sennheiser PC 360, Audio-Technica M50, Bose QuietComfort 25, and Bose QuietComfort 20.

I bought these mostly for silent practicing with my guitar and amp. Brings a very clear and true sound through the headphones and has handled all the highs and lows inherent in guitar amps with ease. Extremely comfortable to wear as well and having both the 1/8 and 1/4 jack options is great. After many months of use, I have zero complaints.

Im not an audiophile, but I immediately noticed how much nicer the sound was in games and listening to music when compared to a headphone with a closed sound stage. Its also super light, comfortable, and breathes well for longer sessions. Im very happy with this purchase as it was less than $100 at the time. There were some concerns about people receiving fake ones during this deal, so check for authenticity at the Sennheiser website ASAP!
