Greater than one weekOkay, so I dont even know where to begin. These are THE best headphones I have ever used. They fit well, feel great (even after 5 hours of gaming), they dont squeeze your head too hard so wearing glasses is confortable. I could go on, but I think you get my point. I hightly HIGHTLY recomend these to anyone who wants a good pair of headphones for both music and gaming. I also recommend using them with

> 3 daySpecial Edition 598s are nothing more than a sleek looking audiophile grade HD 598. I must say the headband is made of better texture feeling.

> 3 daySimply the best headset Ive ever had the privilege to use. I havent ventured past the $80 mark for a headset before, and I am shamefully regrettful of my Logitech g930 headset purchase earlier this year. I jumped on this Black Friday deal for $95 and Im grateful I did. This headset is lightweight with a soft, velvety over ear surface. Its accommodating to most head sizes, too. I have a very large, weirdly shaped dome and I also wear glasses. Where the Logitech was painful, the Sennheiser is soft and not obstructive in any way. I cant get over how light it is. The 3.5mm jack is detachable for safe storing and also comes with a what I think is a 1/4 native jack for larger inputs. The 3.5mm is an adapter you click on the end of that. The default cable is incredibly long, and theres also a 3 (3 foot) 3.5mm jack for your portable or nearby electronics. Each cable also has a lock-in feature just inside the headphone input so it cant be jerked out on accident. I use it for my PC, which is right next to my head. The sound is crisp unlike anything Ive experienced. I played Fallout 4 with this beast and every single click and slide of weapon parts was significantly more audible. Distant sounds can be heard better, while nearer sounds are unmistakable. Music is clear, not overly bassy, and the S sounds arent piercing. It sounded great with Free Spotify app, so higher quality music sounds exquisite. Without native volume control, a keyboard or usb volume control is a boon for PC users. I also ordered this with a Zalman clip mic for gaming, but it doesnt have anywhere to plug in a PS4. I picked up a 3.5mm splitter for the mic and headphone inputs so I can use the headset with a mic on the PS4 (which also sounds great), but thats a very cheap purchase (~$5). There doesnt appear to be any software associated with this product, and Ive yet to explore the possibility of finding an external equalizer program to get the most out of this glorious piece of audio technology. There was recently an authenticity scare about these shortly following black friday when many users reported their serials were reading as spurious products. Sennheiser had a presence on Reddit that made it known that their in-house authentication system hadnt yet updated to accommodate the serials for these SEs yet. They were incredibly professional about ensuring consumers that they were indeed receiving genuine Sennheiser branded equipment. I wish I could give it 6 stars.

> 3 dayThis is an over-the-ear open-back headphone. The fact that its open back makes the noise cancellation almost non-existent. Youll get better noise isolation using a closed-back headphone or a in-ear headphone with foam tips. If youre looking for a venerable product with a balanced sound signature, youll probably love these headphones. However, if youre a bass-head, look elsewhere. These are definitely not your V-shaped Indian headphones with EXTRA BASS™. Although I dont think these headphones are durable (like most other Sennheiser products), they dont really need to be. You probably wont take them outside your house and show off that you have the brains to put on an over-the-ear piece instead of an in-the-ear piece. Unless, of course, you will and in that case, youre looking at the wrong product. Go for a Skullcandy.

> 3 dayThese are pretty underwhelming for reference headphones at this price. Theyre muddy on the bass, a bit vacant in the mids, and sometimes a bit harsh on the highs. They sound like Sennheiser are trying to push the range of frequencies too far. Physically theyre comfy and lightweight, and the detachable and swappable cable with the lock notch is a nice touch. Reasonable build quality, though Im never a fan of plastic headbands. To be honest, I spent the same amount on a pair of AKG K550 reference headphones and found them to be a lot better.

> 3 dayIm not an audiophile. I use headphones when I know Im going to be bothering someone because my games, music, or movies are running while theyre trying to watch something else. These headphones changed the way I felt about headphones. I purchased them at a discount, but would gladly pay full price after experiencing them. These headphones fit over my ears and are extremely comfortable. Other headphones press on my ears or squeeze them (which I assumed was the norm). My ears float freely in these. It was one of the first things I noticed and now love. The sound. Great Odins Raven, the sound is phenomenal. Ive never heard richer, more vibrant audio from a headset. Its like a spa for my ears while at the most amazing concert I can imagine. It bathes my hearing sense with the luscious tones of surround sound. Playing games like SOMA are infinitely more terrifying because the audio brings everything to life normal speakers cannot. I am immersed. The cord is thick and long (yeah, yeah, insert thats what she said joke) and ends in the big plug. There is an adapter to allow it to fit in the smaller hole jacks (like on my PC). There is no volume control on the cord or headphones like others. [Edit: Thanks J. Vega!] The wire can be detached from the unit, but it needs to be twisted to do so. You have to twist it, then tug on it. The top is adjustable. The whole head set is extremely comfortable. These are one of the best purchases Ive ever made. This went from a All right, Ill put my headphones on so you dont have to listen to bullets and death gurgles to Im doing something with audio, Im putting my headphones on - now leave me alone! If you need a set of headphones and want a truly amazing experience... get these. You wont regret it. I havent.
