> 24 hourIf you dont contract the optional monitoring service the system is useless. If youre away you can see the camera but no smart notifications are sent to your phone if a sensor is activated. So basically youre forced to contract the service if you want all the features... The bottom line is that its not really simpli...

> 24 hourI ordered and received. Seemed easy enough to set up BUT when I was trying to activate, found out from SimpliSafe that the $217 model I purchased from Amazon was OUTDATED and they have to send me something to make it work. The back of the base says 7-20-19. Tech support said that was outdated and they do not use anymore. BUT THEY SOLD IT TO ME ANYWAY.

> 24 hourCharging me $10 a month despite me choosing the option NOT to monitor when setting it up. No email verifying subscription or a free trial or anything. You can’t cancel subscription on the app or their website. Their initial email said to ask if questions, but when you try to cancel by replying the email bounces back!! You must call to cancel - that makes no sense in this era except that they are trying to get as much money as possible. Optional monitoring? I think not. No, no, just no! Stay away!

> 24 hourI purchased this system primarily because of the cell phone master monitoring notification, which works well and is far safer than a system dependent upon a landline telephone whose outside wires can be cut in seconds. Pro: Its simple and very easy to install and use, and the 3rd-party monitoring seems to work well. Con: Long wait to get customer service to answer. Cost break-even point for savings on even the simplest monitored system is close to 18 months; for more sophisticated systems it can be 3 1/2 - 4 years or more. Control panels often repeatedly light up during the night for no known reason. If moving a mounted sensor, follow instructions exactly or it will damage your drywall! The 85-db volume of the base unit isnt nearly as loud as youd think it would be, and supplemental 105-db sirens are almost a necessity for a larger or multi-level home. The key-ring remote doesnt appear to have a replaceable battery. The biggest concern I have with the system, and which keeps me from giving it 5 stars, is that it lacks the critical Night setting and protections and instead offers only Home or Away modes. Other systems Ive had offered three protection modes: Home, Away and Night, each mode offering different levels of protection. - When set to Home, all doors were set to instant alarm and interior motion detectors were off. - When set to Away, the front door and interior door from the garage were set to timer alarm, and all other doors were set to instant alarm as were motion detectors. - When set to Night, all doors were set to instant alarm as were selected motion detectors. (Other sensors, of course, were also set as I desired by mode.) You cannot do these variable settings with SimpliSafe. All of its primary detectors - entry, motion and glass break - have only two primary settings, On or Off, and in the On setting have only the choice of either Instant or Timer; these are the choices you initially program into each sensor and they are permanent until you reprogram them. So regardless of mode you select, if you programmed the doors to Timer they will always be on timer and if Instant they will always be on instant any time they are turned on. The obvious problem is that if set to Instant, the alarm will always go off and youll get a call any time you come in through the front door; if those doors are set to Timer, anyone who comes through the door will have 30 seconds (or however many you set) to be inside the house before the alarm goes off - long enough for someone to do harm or possibly find and destroy the base unit before an alarm is sounded. If SimpliSafe can fix these issues, they will have a top-notch system.

> 24 hourSimplisafe has given me SO MUCH peace of mind. As a small person living alone with two babies and the most pathetic guard dog youve ever seen, I get worried about break ins and fires, especially at night while everyones asleep. I have other means of protection, but I wanted a system that would alert me if anyone came in uninvited. That way, I could be ready to use the necessary means of protection and press a panic button that would alert dispatchers. This system was super easy to install. Im just starting to become tech savvy but Im confident even the most inexperienced users would have no issue setting up this system. The instructions walk you through the entire process. Once set up, its pretty discreet. The sensors are pretty small. I appreciate that all the monitors and sensors have the option of sticking it on via the adhesive that comes on it or using small screws. I was worried about how well the adhesive would hold up but Im really impressed by how heavy duty it is. The settings are all completely customizable and you can add more sensors, cameras, remotes, etc. that didnt come with the package originally. It makes it super easy to completely customize your system to make it exactly what you want.

> 24 hourProduct is great, cheap monitoring options.

> 24 hourThis is a great product.....if you commit to the monitoring service. Technically the manufacturer could provide cellphone notifications when a sensor is tripped. They do not allow many features (cellphone notifications, Amazon Alexa sync) unless you subscribe to their monitoring service. WRONG

> 24 hourThis system is great and affordable, I’ve been using it for about a year. I wanted to add a doorbell, but recently discovered that they DO NOT MAKE wireless doorbells. This was extremely disappointing. Now I will need to purchase a whole new system with a wireless doorbell.

> 24 hourSave your money. This system is garbage. The “app” is overpriced, and the doorbell camera almost never works and conveniently loses video constantly. My third sensor has malfunctioned and SimpliSafe is no help. I’m not paying $45 for new sensors that will probably break again. Honestly this whole thing is a total ripoff. It’s almost embarrassing to use.
