Buyer beware! Here’s my last email I had to send SS. They aren’t t reliable. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had suspicious activity and SimpliSafe has let me down! I’m giving you 24 hours to respond -appropriately - or in posting this to every SimpliSafe review site I can find as well as social media. I want an actual fix that works. I want an entire system that if it loses a WiFi or cellular signal, will actively attempt to reconnect until it is reconnected. I want email and app notifications when a camera for whatever reason cannot reconnect. I want a camera that both streams and records. If you can’t give me this real soon, I want you to send me a box with a shipping label and a full refund for all my purchases. Last night someone covered my front lawn with advertising signs. All my other WiFi devices were online but not the SimpliSafe cameras. All three cameras were offline during the night and captured none of it. I would press charges but because of SimpliSafe, I have no evidence! Several weekends ago, a strange man came ringing our doorbell. The SimpliSafe camera initially detected motion but eouldnt show me the live video but the doorbell rang. He stood there over 5 minutes. I was driving home trying to get there fast enough. Eventually the camera came on so I could watch but it didn’t record because it can’t record and steam at the same time.

Having a REAL PROBLEM getting an alarm certificate downloaded - major malfunction requiring major investments in time on the phone talking endlessly to customer support. They say it can’t be done. Have to have a windows pc or send it to your Ins co.

This review is about customer service and not the Simplisafe system. I literally cannot get in touch with anyone regarding SimpliSafe. The call wait times are almost an hour and I CANNOT get anyone to email me back. This is ridiculous!

Terrible system!!! Waste of money. I bought 16 extra window sensors to make sure my kids are safe when I am not home but did not expect so many problems. The sensors randomly stop working and have to be reset. There is no sense of security because you do not know when a sensor will stop working. Also, the whole system has to be reset occasionally for no apparent reason. And the motion sensors are actually heat sensors not motion sensors. Even the initial set up was a mess. Each sensor had to be manually reprogrammed because it was not set up correctly with the unit. I was on the phone for hours resetting and testing each piece. It is very distressing to be at work and get a call from your home alone teenager telling you that the alarm is not working because there is another error code. You do not have a sense of security using this system because you never know when something will just stop working!!!!

if you have a warranty issue and do NOT subscribe to monthly monitoring; Simplisafe will NOT replace or repair defective devices - even if brand new!!! youll get stuck battling Amazon to replace the defective items!!! their 100% guaranty is only if you purchase directly form them!!! So while the prices for these packages are fabulous, you coud end up like me and having to spend another $87 for a replacement keypad that was delivered 33 days ago but activated less than 48 hours ago!!!!

Works great and I am happy with it.. but the ring alarm is cheaper and I love my ring cameras.

I purchased a pretty comprehensive system directly from SimpliSafes website. (mostly because I needed a fully-custom system). Everything from Smoke/CO detectors to keyfobs. I think the total was 40 items. And what transpired as a disaster. We followed all directions to the T. We had 4-5 items that were simply dead-on-arrival. Nothing we did could get the keypad to add them. So, we installed the other 35 pieces. 2 door sensors would keep missing the closed door and the alarm would go off. This despite that fact that the magnet was 3mm from the unit and the blue light told us that it was functioning. Then the water/flood sensors would lose contact. Each day we had 2-3 sensors drop out of the system. We started moving the base station around to address this, but nothing helped. We reached out to the company and they were friendly and responsive (which is not how amazon is nowadays) but they could not figure out the issue. In the end, we returned the whole system. We now have a full RING set-up and it is working perfectly.

I purchased the indoor video camera, door lock, video doorbell, and main station at Best Buy. I have high speed ( 900mps) WiFi with boosters around house for very solid signals. Video camera #1 defective and would not set up. A replacement was sent and didnt work at all. The 3rd replacement was not tried as I returned the system. Video doorbell had great video and you could hear outside conversation but responding audio didnt work. Support said its a known issue. Replacement doorbell #1 didnt work at all. Replacement #2 had same audio issue. when you respond to conversation it was totally garbled. The base station required an upgrade and was sent. but they said I had to join monitoring to get the new download to connect. Using the free trial it connected but nothing else improved. Day 58 of my 60-day return option saw the system returned. The smart lock did work and I really liked it plus it was an excellent value. Too bad nothing else worked. 100% of customer service people were nice and helpful but quality control is their main issue. I could not risk keeping past the refund period. I have used Ring at a friends home and it worked great. Thought this could be a lower cost, more complete option.

Do not buy this and don’t waste your time and money... it will take 4 days to get reply for an email and you have to pay 25 per month to get notifications on your phone app...

I built a system and purchased it from the simply safe site. I also ordered the smart lock. You can get a discount on the system if you try their monitoring risk free so thats what most people will do. The plans are $25, $15 and they offer a $10 camera plan. Seems a little high but i figure i would try it out The Install was very simple and the system basically talks you through it. Everything looks of good quality and i like the number of attachments you can add to the system. Once i go it installed i called to lower my plan to to the $15 plan because it had most of the options i wanted to check out. Granted the biggest difference from the $25 plan is they take away the option to arm or disarm you system from the app but you can still lock you locks, check you devices and look at cameras. I tried this for a few days and i planned on monitoring this myself and have no plan in the end anyway because of the price so i canceled the plan to see how the self monitoring worked. This is where it lost me. With no plan it provides absolutely no app support. you can do basically nothing remotely. Everything will still function in you home correctly so if thats all you want everything will be just fine. Also if you plan on paying for the plan it will also be a good system. My gripe here is the deception on the system when it comes to the usage and the price. For more than hafe the price there are other systems that offer the same level of monitoring. Also if you just want video storage then even the $10 plan makes no sense as you can get for like $3 a month from other systems. I wanted to like this system but i dont not feel it is worth it. I will be researching Wyze and Ring to see what theirs are like.
