> 3 dayThe cameras work but drop wifi even though our modem with high speed internet is only 15 feet away. Its now its impossible to reconnect to the app on phone. I called the help desk and after call was dropped. Dont believe the hype this company is a sham.

> 3 dayOne of the best home investments I’ve made! I’ve had it activated like three times buy mistake and the company always calls right away to check if everything is ok. They even sent out the police who arrived in like 5 minutes to my house to check everything. Even the sheriff called me directly. We are very happy with this product and service and greatly appreciate it. We had read reviews that they were in top position and gotta say that im impressed. Don’t hesitate to invest your money in this system its worth every penny!

> 3 dayThis review is about customer service and not the Simplisafe system. I literally cannot get in touch with anyone regarding SimpliSafe. The call wait times are almost an hour and I CANNOT get anyone to email me back. This is ridiculous!

> 3 dayI rent and live in a rental place & for years I have been trying to get home security system for my rental place, but most places cater to home owners only. I been relying on CCTV camera systems alone for over 10 years now, until I read about SimpliSafe. So I got this SimpliSafe unit here and it took quite awhile to set up due mostly to poor internet connections I have where I now live, but managed to get it set up in about 1 hour. I ordered several extra sensors and key fob unit that this set did not come with, but overall....I think its worth the money. You got to load their app on your smartphone first off and take it from there. You get a choice of several monthly packages to protect your apartment or home and most get their first month for free with security protection. No doubt, well worth it and the sensors and keypads are easy to use and install. Not sure how long the battery life is for those sensors and such, but Id give it 5 stars because for renters in the USA, there really is not many options for home security out there still.

> 3 dayJust received my new SimpliSafe system. Installation was smooth although the manual shows that the motion sensors should be installed 4 to 5 feet higher but after speaking to support, it can be higher, around 6 feet. I wished I knew that since its hard to remove once its stuck to the wall. The system also warned that and entry is open although the app shows everything is ok and closed. We have a 15 to 20 lb dog that triggers the motion sensors so we end up just using the Home option vs Away. Support was ok but i spoke to 2 different person and both yawned on the call which is not a big deal to me The 2 support individuals I spoke to were not so confident in their answers. The person I spoke to struggled to explain the difference between Home and Away. I called technical support but when I asked a question that I assumed the support person did not know the answer I was directed to the support page on the SimpliSafe website. I like the potential and its a good system and inexpensive MRC but leaves a lot for improvement.

> 3 dayOrdered my kit from the SimpliSafe website and been using it 3 months (including when traveling over the holidays), and I’m mostly happy. I’d recommend ordering through their website rather than Amazon because: you can include the exact sensors you need, there’s additional sensors not available here, and they often have additional promotions. I went with SimpliSafe over other DIY security systems on the market for a few reasons. The base station can run off battery a decent amount of time, and it has a cellular connection so it works if Wi-Fi/internet is down. Can be setup completely with the keypad without needing to connect to Wi-Fi or use app; I like the idea that it’s more secure the more offline it is (but then you lose app functionality). When an alarm is triggered, you receive a call and can give your safe-word to have them ignore it instead of reporting it (the app will also have a notification and you can disable it quickly to avoid the call). And, it’s not affiliated with a company that already has too much data on me (I’m looking at you, Ring). Setup is about as simple as can be. Motion and entry sensors can be mounted with either screws or easy-to-remove sticky tape (I’d imagine this is true for all the mountable sensors). They claim the motion sensors are tuned to ignore smaller pets, but I had issues with false alarms. Despite following their recommendations of placing the sensors 6+ feet off the ground, ensuring animals cannot climb near them, etc. My two 5-6 kg cats kept triggering them and I had to switch the sensors to “low” sensitivity. I highly recommend testing your setup by staying near your phone and home a few weeks so you can cancel and check any false alarms as your pets go through all possible routines. Other minor annoyances. Some of the sensors take unusual batteries: CR2032 and CR123A. Not a deal breaker, but it would have been nice if everything could use rechargeable AA/AAA batteries. Also, the system defaults to their most expensive monitoring and you have to call them to change it (the app only lets you switch up to more expensive monitoring, not down to cheaper). I called to change mine to the cheaper monitoring and they said it would switch at the end of the free trial month. It didn’t and I had to call them again… Update 2022/4/17: System is working better. Got a call from one of their technicians about the motion sensor issues. Got additional suggestion to ensure sunlight coming in windows also isn’t in sensor view. Once you take all the caveats into account- pets, windows, sunlight, vents, etc.- there aren’t many places left to put them. They just increased the lowest-price plan from $14.99 to $17.99 a month- a 20% bump. No rhyme or reason; the (mostly automated) 24/7 monitoring wouldn’t result in significant wage overhead. Nor are supply chain woes or material costs relevant since the sensors are sold separately. Nope, this looks like a good old-fashioned cash grab because they know their customers are unlikely to replace their entire security system. Update 2022/11/17: Ugh… motion sensors are getting triggered again even though nothing significant has changed. If you have pets of any size just don’t bother with motion sensors.

Greater than one weekI built a system and purchased it from the simply safe site. I also ordered the smart lock. You can get a discount on the system if you try their monitoring risk free so thats what most people will do. The plans are $25, $15 and they offer a $10 camera plan. Seems a little high but i figure i would try it out The Install was very simple and the system basically talks you through it. Everything looks of good quality and i like the number of attachments you can add to the system. Once i go it installed i called to lower my plan to to the $15 plan because it had most of the options i wanted to check out. Granted the biggest difference from the $25 plan is they take away the option to arm or disarm you system from the app but you can still lock you locks, check you devices and look at cameras. I tried this for a few days and i planned on monitoring this myself and have no plan in the end anyway because of the price so i canceled the plan to see how the self monitoring worked. This is where it lost me. With no plan it provides absolutely no app support. you can do basically nothing remotely. Everything will still function in you home correctly so if thats all you want everything will be just fine. Also if you plan on paying for the plan it will also be a good system. My gripe here is the deception on the system when it comes to the usage and the price. For more than hafe the price there are other systems that offer the same level of monitoring. Also if you just want video storage then even the $10 plan makes no sense as you can get for like $3 a month from other systems. I wanted to like this system but i dont not feel it is worth it. I will be researching Wyze and Ring to see what theirs are like.

> 3 dayIve been a Simplisafe subscriber for several years now and it is a great security/alarm system with reasonable monitoring prices!
