I like everything about the system. Ease of setup, ease of use couldnt be better. The system looks good and functions well.

I installed this myself in about 30 minutes. Rather than refurbish an outdated hardwired system (circa 1980), went with SimpliSafe. Remember to get an alarm permit. Mine took quite a bit longer due to reduced staff because of COVID. Its been working fine. Disabled the motion sensor for now, due to cats activities nearby. May move it, dont know yet. This cost me quite a bit less than fixing an old hardwired system/installing a new hardwired system + contract. I will probably purchase some extra sensors eventually. Works well and easily with WiFi.

App doesnt install properly on Android S9+. As a result, cannot install camera as camera needs QR code to synch. Help line not helpful and sitting on hold for half hour. System seems OK otherwise.

With discounts I paid $136 plus tax for this. Seems like a great deal to me. Took about two hours to set up start to finish including the software setup and mounting the sensors. Tested everything and it all seems to work fine. Used online chat to ask customer support if my ceiling fan would set off the motion sensor and was done in less than 5 minutes. (It wont by the way). I subscribed to the mid level monitoring. I am going to spend another $25 for the fob. No complaints at all so far.

I bought this with the understanding that I could REMOTELY monitor my home without purchasing one of their 2 service programs. THAT IS NOT THE CASE. I have returned it for that reason. However #1, this system was extremely well packaged and easy to set up. They really have thought the whole process through. Initial set-up and pairing was simple. Each device could either be attached with screws or mounting stickers (both included). It wasnt until I was configuring the system and the app kept looping back asking me about a monitoring option that I realized there was a problem. Despite the fact it paired with my WiFi the app didnt allow access without their top monitoring service (83 cents a day I think). It took a call to tech support discover that it wouldnt work the way I wanted without one of their paid services. However #2, they were extremely pleasant on the refund including free shipping back. No hard sell although I was offered a couple months more of free monitoring. If you want a DIY home security and monitoring system and are willing to pay for the monitoring service, I think this would be an excellent option.

I know it’s a security system and I think it notifies the police? But there’s a chance it doesn’t as the only time it was set off, I never received a phone call. Worries me a little bit. Also, I see this and think “smart home” when I think “smart security system” I think of a system that will tell you which door opened, what window opened, where motion was seen and part of me expects the system to be integrated with Alexa for routines. For example, “when the front door opens, turn on living room light.” I don’t see this as a smart home accessory by any means. All Alexa can do is arm or disarm, and Alexa’s glass breaking monitoring can’t set off the alarm so I have to buy a second device to listen for glass? And a second doorbell camera? A second smart lock? It wouldn’t be that bad if it did anything else I had hoped it did. Unfortunately, as of now, the only kudos I can give is that it’s easy to install and the daily reminders are a huge help.

We absolutely love this system. I actually bought another one for my apartment in Pasadena. I have a monitored system that I pay a monthly fee that I’ve been using for years, and I’ve found this system to be just as good as my other security system that I had professionally installed and monitored. SimpliSafe is very easy to install. It comes with all you need to effectively monitor your home, and I’m very happy with the price of the equipment. Also, this is even better than my other professional system because it still will work in the event of a power outage. I have added more cameras because I wanted them, but this basic kit is great to begin with. I do wish the alarm was a bit louder, but my other system isn’t very loud either. This works great in my home. It covers the entire home with no problems. We are very pleased with this system.

We bought this in response to all the advertisements and positive reviews, but have had the opposite experience. Two of our sensors are constantly not responding and then they work again a little while later. One sensor is out of battery already a few months after buying the system. Our camera goes offline all the time and flashes a yellow light. Id spend more money on a hardwired system next time.

Ive had a Simplisafe (SS3) system (with 10 entry sensors, 2 motion sensors, 2 external sirens, both smoke and CO2 detectors, 2 keypads and a panic button) since the new system was released and have absolutely raved about it. When I was offered this system to review, I jumped on it immediately as I wanted one for the second house. Setup is dead simple and everything paired up perfectly. I have the $24.99/mo monitoring on both systems and really enjoy being able to control both through the app. (Although I DO wish you didnt have to pay more for app usage). I have mine connected to both cell and WiFi and love the fact that if WiFi is down (or the keypad is destroyed) the alarm still functions. There is one thing I HIGHLY recommend getting with ANY Simplisafe you purchase--an external siren. The one included in the base station is honestly not loud enough. That being said, its enough to alert an intruder that you have an alarm, and by the time the siren is sounding, (if you have monitoring enabled) the police have already been called. So, not a huge deal. But an extra siren will definitely make an intruder exit post haste. A GREAT system.
