ive been using these locks for almost six months without any problems! did some poking around for different locks to prevent my very smart, very curious little cat from getting into my closet. he had figured out that if he threw his body loudly and aggressively against the sliding doors, he could bump them enough to create just big enough of a gap, slide in his paw, and slither his way in to munch on all my clothes and shoes--and wake me up repeatedly throughout the night, in the process. these locks have turned out to be a total lifesaver. for security, i attached three of them, and they are so easy to lock/unlock whenever i need human access to my stuff. since i rent my apartment, im relieved to find a solution that i will one day be able to remove (even if it will take a little work). and, the neutral color blends in perfectly with the color of my closet doors. im stocking up on extras in the event they somehow malfunction or eventually un-stick from the doors. but, thus far, they have been incredibly secure.

I have a sliding barn style door for my pantry that my daughter (2 yo) loved moving to the side to get into mischief. This is the perfect solution. Super easy to put up, easy to use, and keeps her out of potentially harmful places. Worth the purchase!

I have a 7yr old very strong daughter who is an eloper. I couldnt find the bar lock they used to sell back in the day for our sliding glass doors. I bought thinking it was cheap enough if she breaks it but it was worth a try. Welp, its been weeks of people pulling on the doors forgetting its got a lock and its still holding strong! Definitely worth it!!

Bubba is my 2 year old son. Bubba gets into everything. Bubba does not stop when you yell no, stop or get away from that. Bubba knows the snacks are in the pantry. Bubba is about 30 inches tall. Thus pantry lock on at 60 inches off the floor. Bubba now asks please.

Im giving this 4 stars because the first one I put up came off the next day. The tape just didnt hold. However, I let the lock sit for two days with the second one and it is holding on quite well. I put it as close to the slider as possible so that the toddler cant get any power or leverage on the lock. It is easy enough that my older child can unlock it easily to let the dog in and out and lock it right back so the toddler doesnt follow the dog out :) I think it needs more than a day to set up tight on the tape. Glad it came in a two pack :)

Works great as a child lock for our back patio sliding glass door.

Purchased since my 2 and 4 year old like to open windows in their bedrooms. I installed the lock to the very top so they can’t reach and so far a success.

Surprisingly strong little buggers. Perfect for sliding door with dog door installed. It beats using a stick to hold the door closed, and security tension bars can make opening the door take a bit too long when youve got excited puppy creatures that are excited to get outside RIGHT NOW BECAUSE SQUIRREL. The other thing I was going to try if these didnt work was one of the quick access foot locks, but wasnt too keen on drilling into the frame so I figured what the heck Ill try the flimsy looking plastic contraptions first. Alas, they arent flimsy at all. Few things, and they arent complaints. - If you have a dog door installed in your sliding door, the weather striping/flap can block these but thats easily solved by cutting a small enough tab out to allow clearance. (See picture) - One thing I was concerned about was the amount of pressure these could apply on the door in order to make a firm seal when the door is closed. The 3M strip attached to these are strong enough but I wanted them to be able to withstand as much pressure as possible, so I removed the 3M strips, added Gorilla Glue clear double sided tape AND Gorilla Glue epoxy. After the appropriate dry time, these babies arent going anywhere. Ever. We might have to replace the glass if we decide we dont want to use these any longer. Gorilla Glue is no joke. - Lastly, if you desire an even firmer seal, you can add a bit of Gorilla Glue tape to the weather striping where the pad in these makes contact when in the locked position. (See photo) Youd be surprised how much additional pressure just the width of that tape can add to your doors seal. Long story short, these fellas are strong, easy (quick!) to open, and with the right modification/reinforcement they can provide an impressive amount of pressure on your sliding door to create a firm seal when its closed.

My two year old sleeps independently in his room, and early in the morning or before bed he’d be sliding his closet doors open and slamming them closed, resulting in huge banging noises and even his fingers would get caught sometimes. I’d have to go in there several times to tell him to stop, but nothing worked. This lock is worth the price! He can no longer open the closet doors and we all sleep peacefully now, and no more hurt fingers!
