We bought these locks to keep our two year old from getting into the backyard because we have a pool outside and do not have a fence around it yet since we just bought our house. These locks work perfectly for keeping her inside. She hasnt figured out how to unlock the sliding glass door yet anyway, however we did not want to take the chance that she would figure it out especially since shes in a toddler bed now. These locks are very durable, our 5 year old boy tries really hard sometimes to open the door when the lock is engaged and he cant pop it off at all. Definitely a must buy for baby and toddler proofing!

This product works well 98% of the time. My reason for the 4 star rating is that if you pull on the door in a specific way, the lock failed. It wasnt a hard pull, since my 3 year old was the one who got the door opened a few times in a 3 week period. Its been hard to replicate that instant as my husband and I havent been able to pull it open. Since then though the lock has held up, and he tries to open the door frequently.

So far it works but Im still very disappointed. If I didnt need these immediately I would return for what I bought before. They are the same unfortunate PC (polycarbonate) instead of Polypropylene. This brand claimed to use PP so I was ready to buy. The other ones I have are the same other than being more inconspicuous. These will draw the attention of my disabled child....they are impossible not to notice if you pay any attention to the door IMO. They are three times the size of the ones I already have and they work fine. This is just unecessary and bad false representation.

These are by far the best childproofing sliding door locks we have found, and weve tried a few. Theres not much to say except: they work, they look good, and theyre sturdy enough to have survived many attempts by our toddler to open the doors without any signs of distress. My only piece of advice is to be careful how close you put them to the door it will be holding shut. Too far away, and your child may be able to a.) stick their fingers in the crack and potentially slam them in there still OR b.) pull at the door with enough momentum to potentially damage the lock. Too close and youll either a.) have the lock under constant strain if the door its holding back is constantly applying pressure to it OR b.) it will be harder to set the lock with one hand because youll have to always push the door its holding back away simultaneously while setting the lock. That last scenario (a touch too close) is what Im dealing with on one of our doors, but its only a very minor annoyance. Just follow the directions on the product and youll be fine. I, being a typical dad, just went for it and put it slightly too close. Installed the rest with a very slight gap and theyre perfect.

This little gadget has prevented my little one from opening slider windows, doors and anything that can basically opens sideways. Very strong and sturdy, because even my friends and family are amazed what this simple stick on surface door lock can actually do. The 3M adhesive is very strong and hard to remove, so I expect many years of use until my child is old enough to reach the 6 ft placement to unlock it. As a father / parent that works from home, I highly recommend this product to prevent your ninja child from getting themselves in a sticky situation that they shouldnt be in without your knowledge!

This worked to keep my cats out of the closet. Somehow they learned how to slide the door open. So far it’s working, but it’s cheap plastic that can easily break if not careful when locking and unlocking. It would also be nice to have it in different colors.

Absolutely great and innovative idea... My 2yo loved opening and shutting her sliding closet doors at night to play and this put an immediate end to that. Just took it off with dental floss as someone recommended (after trying to pull it off) and the tape has horrendously buggered up the door. Lots of residue that I cant get off. This just goes to show how strong it is though so cant really complain about that. Just be aware if this is a temporary fix and you might have a permanent mark left behind.

For those who have a cat whos learned how to open sliding closet doors (and then climb your clothes with her claws to perch on an upper shelf), the struggle is real. Shes been carefully watching me latch this door lock, but even if she could do it (I wouldnt put it past her), its nicely installed with firm adhesive way out of her reach. If youre tired of claw punctures in your suit jackets, runs in your silk blouses, and tears in your skirts, this will solve your problem.
