I have ordered two sets of these--one in August 2015 and another in February 2016 because I loved the first two sets so much. I have two kids ages 4 and 1.5 who love getting into things. Not in a bad way but my 1.5 year old loves to help by bringing me things. I also live in a smaller rambler so I cant always keep them out of rooms or places. Especially when my nanny and her two kids are over. So I needed some good solutions to closet storage. My 4 year old never got into things when she was a baby but oh man, my 1.5 year old sure does. These Sure Basics Sliding Door Locks are more powerful than you would think. I start by washing the spot where you want to put them and then letting that spot thoroughly dry. I held each one in place for around 30 seconds to a minute to get a good bond and then waited a day or so to actually use them. So, true mommy brain happened and I put my first two on backwards. Luckily they work just as well backwards as they do forwards. I really like how they are really small and after a while, I dont really notice them. They are easy to click into place and take off. So far, in the however many months Ive had them they work just as well as day 1 and havent broken or failed me yet! *Please note that although I review products at discounts often, I purchased this product for FULL PRICE. And not even just once, twice! I just wanted to write a review to recommend this to others.

ive been using these locks for almost six months without any problems! did some poking around for different locks to prevent my very smart, very curious little cat from getting into my closet. he had figured out that if he threw his body loudly and aggressively against the sliding doors, he could bump them enough to create just big enough of a gap, slide in his paw, and slither his way in to munch on all my clothes and shoes--and wake me up repeatedly throughout the night, in the process. these locks have turned out to be a total lifesaver. for security, i attached three of them, and they are so easy to lock/unlock whenever i need human access to my stuff. since i rent my apartment, im relieved to find a solution that i will one day be able to remove (even if it will take a little work). and, the neutral color blends in perfectly with the color of my closet doors. im stocking up on extras in the event they somehow malfunction or eventually un-stick from the doors. but, thus far, they have been incredibly secure.

We adopted a kitty-cat during the pandemic and found that he is quite adventuresome. He also likes to open our closet doors and get into things in there. This works perfectly by keeping the closet doors locked. It has given me peace of mind so I don’t have to worry about him tearing up my closet.

My two year old sleeps independently in his room, and early in the morning or before bed he’d be sliding his closet doors open and slamming them closed, resulting in huge banging noises and even his fingers would get caught sometimes. I’d have to go in there several times to tell him to stop, but nothing worked. This lock is worth the price! He can no longer open the closet doors and we all sleep peacefully now, and no more hurt fingers!

This product works well 98% of the time. My reason for the 4 star rating is that if you pull on the door in a specific way, the lock failed. It wasnt a hard pull, since my 3 year old was the one who got the door opened a few times in a 3 week period. Its been hard to replicate that instant as my husband and I havent been able to pull it open. Since then though the lock has held up, and he tries to open the door frequently.

Obviously I don’t expect this to keep a burglar out, I just wanted to keep the toddler in. And it’s doing it’s job! Will definitely buy again if needed in the future.

**UPDATE 6/5/2020** I have to take this down from 5 stars to three. We ended up having two of them rip off (not with us intentionally taking them off) the door and taking the paint off with them. And then when taking off the others the paint came off as well. They served their purpose well, and it could have just been because it’s old paint. But now we have to make sure all that is covered up for our move. -Original- We’ve had these up for a few months now. They work really well, the only issue is sometimes we forget they’re there and try to open then can’t (user error lol.) we got them because our cat had learned how to push open the sliding closet doors and we have smaller things we were afraid he could choke on in there. They do the job so well! Very easy installation. We haven’t had to take them off yet, will update when we do on whether paint comes off with it or not!

We have (had) a problem with the cat always sneaking into the closet. He cant get in anymore! Very strong hold, but it did rip the paint off the door when we tried repositioning it. We live in an apartment so its no big deal, cheap paint is always chipping off, but be warned apartment dwellers.

Great little safety lock. Bought to use on my toddlers closet so he can’t get into mischief in the night. Only just applied it so can’t speak for the quality of adhesion but I’m happy to have found this.
