These are by far the best childproofing sliding door locks we have found, and weve tried a few. Theres not much to say except: they work, they look good, and theyre sturdy enough to have survived many attempts by our toddler to open the doors without any signs of distress. My only piece of advice is to be careful how close you put them to the door it will be holding shut. Too far away, and your child may be able to a.) stick their fingers in the crack and potentially slam them in there still OR b.) pull at the door with enough momentum to potentially damage the lock. Too close and youll either a.) have the lock under constant strain if the door its holding back is constantly applying pressure to it OR b.) it will be harder to set the lock with one hand because youll have to always push the door its holding back away simultaneously while setting the lock. That last scenario (a touch too close) is what Im dealing with on one of our doors, but its only a very minor annoyance. Just follow the directions on the product and youll be fine. I, being a typical dad, just went for it and put it slightly too close. Installed the rest with a very slight gap and theyre perfect.

I have a sliding barn style door for my pantry that my daughter (2 yo) loved moving to the side to get into mischief. This is the perfect solution. Super easy to put up, easy to use, and keeps her out of potentially harmful places. Worth the purchase!

Im sure these would work well on sliding patio doors because Ive used similar products as a deterrent, but we use these on sliding closet doors to keep the cat out. Easy to install and easy to use.

I love my cats, but can’t stand them getting into my closet! I tried velcroing the doors shut (only mildly effective), putting something in the sliding track to stop them (rarely worked), putting scary stuff in my closet (mostly resulting in scaring myself). I was so frustrated and randomly searched for something that would stop the closet door from opening. Found these, and for the price had to give it a try for my sanity. Now I never have to worry about coming home and seeing my closet partway open and clothes all over the floor! No more fur on clothes! No more cats getting cozy on expensive shoes! Super easy to install and, more importantly, it actually works! Whoever came up with these, thank you for giving me peace of mind.

We like this so far! We installed it a month ago to keep our 3yo with special needs from opening the sliding door when we werent around. We placed ours at the top of the door out of his reach, even if he stands on a chair. However, our 6 and 7yo can easily engage and disengage the lock themselves with a chair, giving them freedom, albeit with some effort on their part, to go out when they desire. The biggest downside at this point is that there is no way to lock the door after you go outside (this is not a failure of the product, per se, but something to keep in mind). We havent solved this problem yet and thankfully, it hasnt been an issue.

My German Shepherd kept opening my sliding patio door, I installed a burglar bar, and after her watching me use it for about a week, she figured it out. So my friend suggested this, and I LOVE it!

As someone else mentioned, theres a pin that the front of this lock rotates around as the lock is engaged/disengaged and it fell out. I was able to feed it back in, but Ill likely need to put a drop of super glue on the bottom to seal it in. The pin itself doesnt seem to need to rotate, so it should be okay to glue, but if the pin falls out this product doesnt work at all, so Ill have to figure something out if that doesnt work (glue a cover to the bottom so the pin doesnt fall out.)

These work as you would expect. The main issue I have is that after about 2 weeks of use one of them fell off and it no longer will stick. I have to go buy some more double sided tape to get it to work. But I think for the most part these are great. We use them all the time to keep out toddler in the house now that she has figured out how to open our slider. Maybe if there was a better quality tape it would last longer but for the price its does what you expect just not for terribly long.
