Greater than one weekVery well built, sturdy, and bright light but I am disappointed in the battery life. These lights tend to only last about a half hour or less on the brightest setting and take about 4-5 hours to fully charge. They also get very hot when left on for a short period of time which is a little concerning. Other than that, very easy to use and very bright. Ergonomic design as well.

> 3 dayThis is a Great little rechargeable flashlight. I had one previously and lost it, so I bought two more. One to keep in my bedroom night stand and one for work. It is BRIGHT. i mean like when you turn it on it is so bright people near you will claim that they can hear it it is so bright. the only thing that could make this flashlight better would be if it was cheaper.

> 3 dayThe flashlight is super bright. The battery life is great and recharges quickly. The only issue i have with the light is the switch on the back. It will come on with very little or no pressure in a bag or pocket.

> 3 dayI am a Police Officer, and I have to say this light is simply incredible. Its the brightest, most compact light Ive been able to find. I replaced an older Streamlight Stinger (which is still a great light) with this Strion HL model. I wanted something extremely bright, but compact enough to fit in my tactical vest pocket--This fit the bill exactly. This light is perfect for traffic stops (which is a very large part of the job). The Stinger Ive used for years has a more concentrated beam and when I would shine it into a vehicle, the occupants could see exactly what I was illuminating (kind of like a large laser pointer in this regard). The Strion HL has a broader beam and does an excellent job of lighting up the entire interior of each vehicle. The HL model is also perfect for clearing houses/buildings and searching through wooded areas because of the extreme brightness and broad beam. I can only think of 2 negative things about this light (that are easily corrected by changing the settings on the light)... 1. The charge only lasts about 1 hour on the 500 lumen setting. This is sufficient for me on most days. You can always turn the lumens down to increase runtime if needed. Even at the 250 lumen setting, this light is extremely bright! 2. It is so bright that its hard to see when using it to illuminate for writing purposes. Once again though, you can turn the lumens down if necessary. Bottom line is that this is an excellent product that is backed by the Streamlight quality weve been used to for so long. Ive done a lot of research on other flashlights out there, and I am confident that this light is the best on the market right now! I would recommend this light to anyone. Its worth every penny!

> 3 dayA home inspector friend said after complete out my cheaper flashlights that’s I needed a stream light so I ordered one Within a month of owning it failed. Luckily I am 10 minutes from the factory so I drove over and had it serviced. They mailed it back and it failed again an hour into using it. I promptly drove over and said something is wrong. Apparently the battery is the issue and they replaced the battery and it’s been fine ever since. Besides that issue it’s a great flashlight . Super bright yet small.

> 3 dayAs an Automotive Technician, light is key to doing anything involving inspections, repairs, and maintenance. This light makes it easy to see things otherwise difficult with lower a lumen light. I use this light all day, every day, dropped it countless times, and it keeps working. There are three brightness settings: low, medium, and high. This light is so bright the other techs at my shop have light envy. Pros: Very bright - 500 lumens, while not the brightest Streamlight, it is small and easy to carry ( I use the leather basket-weave holster). Three modes to conserve battery life. It has a rechargeable lithium ion battery good for 1500 charges. It also sports a tail cap switch, just where I like it. The charger is mountable and holds the flashlight securely, and the D/C power cord is nice when you need to charge on the go. Cons: No piggyback charger for second battery, you have to charge your spare battery in the flashlight. Only one hour of battery life on its highest setting (500 lumens), but this is a sacrifice due to the size of the flashlight. The pros (for me) definitely outweigh the cons on this mighty little light. If you need a rugged, compact, ultra bright flashlight, search no further and buy this one.

Greater than one weekThis flashlight is a little beast. My friend has the larger model which made me give this a try. Both are top of the line items. Battery life estimates are quite accurate. All modes function properly even after months of use/wear and tear on my duty belt. Dropped it several times on pavement and other hard surfaces, no issues. One thing I found odd was the charger. Seems cheaply made. Just a little gray clippy thing with a small red led light. First few times I put it on the charger the led light took several minutes to turn on, as if there was a poor connection. Now, after a few months, it turns on immediately and functions as described in the directions. One thing I love about it though, is that you can charge this flashlight constantly without burning up the battery or the charger. The charger is also silent, which I find impressive given how quickly it charges and how powerful the flashlight is for its size. All in all I am 100% satisfied with this product. I would HIGHLY recommend the....Strike BTL Quick Cam Roto-Loc Articulating Tactical Holster for Basic Tactical Lights...it fits this flashlight perfectly and I have little doubt its one of the best quality holsters of any style/use.

19-11-2024Bought this in 2014 for site work in Wuhan. Still use it for deer hunting to track a wounded animal at night or monitor varmints and critters around campsite at dinner time. It has been dropped on hard ground a few times, yet it has worked flawlessly since day 1.

> 3 dayThese are incredibly bright, incredibly tuff very long lasting flashlights. I have one that was run over by a forklift and I replaced the switch and straightened the end and it still works great.

Greater than one week16 years ago I purchased my first two xenon Streamlight Stingers. Last year I updated to the LED age and purchased three new HL Stingers for work and home use, and one Survivor for emergency. I thought I would add to my collection this month by purchasing a LED Polystinger and a Strion LED HL. I have read so much pro and con for the Strion from multiple sites - but I couldnt stop my personal desire to have a Strion handy for my civilian, (non work or home projects related) usage. Granted my Strion purchase was a return caught from Amazon warehouse - of which I have never had an issue buying from there. Well, this Strion is my first ever warehouse lemon. I took it out of its repackaging, and observed the orange inspection sticker (pffft!). I clicked the light into the charger and plugged into my wall outlet. The Strion immediately began to strobe blink a very faint light. I remember reading some of the cons comments on Amazon and other sites, and said to myself So this is what some people are complaining about! The blinking light, the recharging issue, etc! I unplugged and replugged, and still the same. I immediately removed all items from my wall and repacked into the Amazon bag and box and requested a full refund, which - for now - seems like its going to be honored. Amazon, who the heck inspected this warehouse return??? And in the same regard, how this light ever make its way off the original assembly line for Streamlight customers??? So what am I saying? Im saying that I have purchased 8 Streamlight flashlights in the past 16 years. I have only ever had a problem with one of them. The other seven have been flawless performers for me. This one failure is such a worrisome problem, that I am returning it immediately. A blinking light, while charging? Bad circuitry with these powerful rechargable batteries and high heat lamps could lead to some serious property damage or personal injury (think early iPhone 4s, Hoverboards and now Galaxy Notes 7s). And, this is the one Streamlight that I have read the most consistent cons about, in spite of its FANTASTIC features and finish (yes Strion looks and feels lightweight, tough and bad assed!). I was really psyched up to carry around this beautifully crafted, light throwing device for my everyday self-protection and safety. However, based on this one bad experience - there definitely appears to be a quality control issue with this particular Strion LED, HL model. Some of us working professionals lives depend on these devices, so this needs to get fixed Streamlight. Lastly, Streamlight, I am obviously very disappointed, to say the least. Your other models have kicked butt for me, and Im sure I will continue to buy some of your products in the future. Just not a Strion LED, HL for right now. Not until you have worked out some issues. Smh.
