I had the old version of this light I got about eight years ago. My old light still works great but man is this new one bright and a much whiter light. I work ems in a major city and pull 8 to 10 runs a night. Some people for whatever reason dont believe in light bulbs so I can shine this light towards the ceiling and it lights up the whole room. Plus it has three light levels and a strobe feature which is great to get someones attention. Its also rechargeable which saves on the cost of batteries. This light really pays for itself just from the cost of batteries. This light also uses the same charger as my old strion. If you dont want a large light but still want a bright light, this light is for you. UPDATE: Ibought this light November 2013, it has been going strong for 5 and a half years now.

Fantastic flashlight! Im an airline pilot and was looking for a portable, discreet flashlight that can easily be put in a full flight bag, yet has a high power, quality beam for doing walk arounds. The Streamlight 74751 far and away exceeded my expectations (and they were high, after reading reviews). The flashlight has a very powerful (yet adjustable) beam in a very small, compact design (fits easily in pant pockets). Some of the main benefits that I think stand out and should be mentioned are: - Very powerful beam, especially considering its its very compact size! (the entire light easily fits inside a pocket, unless you wear skinny jeans) - Metal housing, yet is lighter than it looks. - 3 beam brightness settings, in addition to a strobe setting. - Pressing the power button lightly (without clicking it on) turns on the light temporarily (momentary switch), then immediately turns off when you lift your finger off the button. I find this a fantastic feature for walk arounds when youre in and out of dark spots you need to illuminate, without the constant wear and tear of clicking on and off. The box includes the flashlight, recharging base (clamps the flashlight onto the charging contacts), AC power adapter (to charge at home, etc), and a DC car power outlet adapter. The latter 2 adapters plug into a universal socket on the recharging base. All in all, a fantastic flashlight that I highly recommend. Couldnt be happier with my purchase. The only down side is possibly the price, but then again, you do get what you pay for (which Ive found out several times over with other flashlights).

These are incredibly bright, incredibly tuff very long lasting flashlights. I have one that was run over by a forklift and I replaced the switch and straightened the end and it still works great.

Heads-up, this Strion has fewer lumens than some other models, 375 lumens. Take a look. DS model is about 1 longer to accommodate having a 2nd button at the lens/light part of the unit. 500 Lumens is sufficient for parking enforcement citation illumination purposes. I use this model daily, its fantastic! Others I ordered came in 650 or 675 lumen model. Have yet to really field test this 650 model as it was a gift.

I was debating between the Stinger and the strion, but after comparing everything I was on the fence about which one to purchase, as much time as I spend in a vehicle this strion light is shorter in length so it is much more comfortable and easier to maneuver around, also this strion is a lithium ion battery not an nicad or nickel metal hydrate. Cost really didnt play much of a role because they were close enough for the extra lumens in the stinger, but I chose this strion for all around use especially from a vehicle. I also use it as a vehicle spotlight because our vehicle does not have a spotlight in it. I can light up an area to positively identify objects from more than 75 yards away so no vehicle spotlight needed. Love this light... Love this light!

Love this light. Bought this because my academy issued light had batteries. I used it for a month on night shift and the batteries were losing their power already so I decided I needed a rechargable light. A buddy had this one and it was incredibly bright and he liked it more than his primary. This light is good for up close use like clearing a house. Its not as well suited for searching for things in the distance. My main flashlight is a Streamlight Stinger DS LED and that one is better for distance. Most of what I use my lights for is close distance so I used this one the vast majority of the time. Ive read this light comes with 3 light settings + a strobe setting. Im not sure if Im missing something or not understanding flashlight settings correctly but all I am able to get working is 1 regular setting and 1 strobe setting. But thats all I want really so Im good. :)

I am a police officer and actually use this light as my primary. Im very proactive and have had to charge this light only once a week. After initially stopping a vehicle or pedestrian, I will turn down the light to its lowest setting. I have the small streamlight that I put in my breast pocket just in case my light dies as well as our department issued streamlight I keep in the trunk, but so far, I havent had to use them. One issue is trying to hold the light under the arm while writing. It takes a while getting used to and you have to keep pushing it down or it ends up shining right in the eye of the person you are talking to. I like the smaller flashlight as my primary. Obviously, if you want your light to serve as an impact weapon this wont be the light for you, but honestly who are we kidding? 99.9% of the time you are using that thing to knock on doors. Be careful with the car charger plug. The top unscrews to access a fuse. Horrible design. When does the 12v in a car short out? The plug end will unscrew on you and you will lose the ability to charge your light. Throw a needle point amount of super glue to keep that thing from coming off. Overall, this light has been a great primary light for me.. glad I bought it.
