Streamlight 74754 Strion LED HL 615-Lumen Rechargeable Professional Flashlight with 12-Volt DC Charger, Black

I have had this now for six years and it still works the same as when I bought it. The rechargeable battery is still working ok but it takes a little longer to charge but you can replace it. I used this professionally as an armed guard at night patrolling for five of those years and it worked great as a tactical light. It allowed me to light up an entire area at night for confronting people, which is dangerous and you do not want to get to close to strangers. Light is a powerful tool at night. I am retired now and it is still my main flashlight that I use for walking early in the morning. My complaint is the tail switch sometimes does not work as well as I would like going from one light level to another. Good Luck to you. BP

Love this light. Bought this because my academy issued light had batteries. I used it for a month on night shift and the batteries were losing their power already so I decided I needed a rechargable light. A buddy had this one and it was incredibly bright and he liked it more than his primary. This light is good for up close use like clearing a house. Its not as well suited for searching for things in the distance. My main flashlight is a Streamlight Stinger DS LED and that one is better for distance. Most of what I use my lights for is close distance so I used this one the vast majority of the time. Ive read this light comes with 3 light settings + a strobe setting. Im not sure if Im missing something or not understanding flashlight settings correctly but all I am able to get working is 1 regular setting and 1 strobe setting. But thats all I want really so Im good. :)

In terms of function, this is the best flashlight Ive ever had! The illumination in the dark of night is phenomenal. I can see as well as if it were daytime. I purchased this flashlight because my friend has one and I was immensely impressed by it. Regrettably, I had to give this terrific flashlight one star because the charger was defective. I exchanged it for another one, and the charger for the replacement flashlight was defective too! Now, Im forced to return the flashlights to Kohls, a store I never go to and which is inconvenient to me. Suddenly (at least for these flashlights), neither Whole Foods nor The UPS Store are options for returning these defective products, and if I want UPS to pick them up, I must pay $7.99 each. Amazons purchase and return policies are integral parts of the product. In that respect, why doesnt Amazon explain in its Returns policy how it determines the return location? Do certain items go to Kohls and others to Whole Foods, etc.? I read everything about a product before I purchase it. Knowing beforehand where I must return a defective product would greatly help me to make the purchase decision.

I use on a semi, i bought because i lost supplier of switches, then i found on amazon. Now i have two working units. FYI, for years i would buy new tail on and off switch, then a cop told me his light, he just screws off end and cleans contact between spring and battery. Damn that works too. I have 5 switches. Over 10 years. This light is very good, will take double the money to get afew percentages better . Not worth chaseing a few extra lumins,

I work in a prison, so a small flashlight is invaluable. This is the fourth flashlight Ive bought while trying to find one I liked, and I feel that I hit pay dirt. If this one breaks, however unlikely that may be, Ill get another one in a heart beat. Pros: - Omg, bright. So much light out of such a small light. On its brightest setting, it will light up a dark area like nothing else. During a recent blackout, it seemed to outperform the headlights and spotlights on one of the patrol vehicles. - Its extremely durable. Im clumsy, and this one has taken a couple nasty bounces off the concrete. Still going. - The lowest setting is still reasonably bright, and allows several hours of use at that setting. - The charger can be used in a vehicle, which is my favorite thing about this. My commute is just over an hour, and between driving home and coming back to work the following day, I can have my light fully charged and ready to go without even taking it in the house. Cons: - Price, I guess? Its a lot to pay for a flashlight, but considering how much it gets used, and the quality of it, Id say its more than worth it. So, its a great little light. If you depend on a flashlight for work or, as in my case, your safety, this ones a good bet.

I work the graveyard shift as a security guard this light is awesome exceeds my expectations.

This light is perfect not to big not to small and Bright! Compact and solid. Good for security and law enforcement.

I am a Police Officer, and I have to say this light is simply incredible. Its the brightest, most compact light Ive been able to find. I replaced an older Streamlight Stinger (which is still a great light) with this Strion HL model. I wanted something extremely bright, but compact enough to fit in my tactical vest pocket--This fit the bill exactly. This light is perfect for traffic stops (which is a very large part of the job). The Stinger Ive used for years has a more concentrated beam and when I would shine it into a vehicle, the occupants could see exactly what I was illuminating (kind of like a large laser pointer in this regard). The Strion HL has a broader beam and does an excellent job of lighting up the entire interior of each vehicle. The HL model is also perfect for clearing houses/buildings and searching through wooded areas because of the extreme brightness and broad beam. I can only think of 2 negative things about this light (that are easily corrected by changing the settings on the light)... 1. The charge only lasts about 1 hour on the 500 lumen setting. This is sufficient for me on most days. You can always turn the lumens down to increase runtime if needed. Even at the 250 lumen setting, this light is extremely bright! 2. It is so bright that its hard to see when using it to illuminate for writing purposes. Once again though, you can turn the lumens down if necessary. Bottom line is that this is an excellent product that is backed by the Streamlight quality weve been used to for so long. Ive done a lot of research on other flashlights out there, and I am confident that this light is the best on the market right now! I would recommend this light to anyone. Its worth every penny!
