Thermaltronics TMT-TC-2 Tip Tinner (20g) in 0.8oz Container

I am not normally a review writing person, but as a person new to soldering and trying to up their game, this tip tinner is amazing! Clean my tip, lightly press in the container and the tip is shiny and ready to go!

Used to tin the tips of my soldering station. Works well.

Useful part on my welding station

This is a real nice thing to have. Sand off all corrosion, or file your pitted, destroyed tip into the shape you prefer, heat it up, dip it into this stuff, and wipe it around. After one or two tries the tip will have a nice tin coating.

I never heard of this stuff n all my years soldering - its magic in a tin for sure. Cleans and tins your tip WAY faster that the old fashioned way :-)

Who knew this was even a thing ? It makes old soldering tips clean and shiny and they stay nice and bright during hours of use.

brush the crud off the iron tip and stick it into the tip tinner. It melts instantly and leaves the tip ready to solder. for small wires or to tin a wire, the tinning of the tip often is enough to do the job even without adding solder.

I brought my soldering iron back to life, I made a rookie mistake and let the soldering iron corrode, within minutes I manage to tin it back into soldering conditions!

Honestly, this is the first time I tinned my iron before soldering, and it happened to be with a new high quality solder, so I can’t compare with my $4 soldering pens. But, it seems to work. Maybe it’s the $50 investment for a new iron, probably a huge factor.
