At first i thought this was just a cheap way to tin and would be more of a problem. Nope, works like it says and doesnt take much to tin your tip and keep it looking and working like new.

I was skeptical and really didnt know what to expect when I ordered this product. But Im so glad I did, I am very pleased with the outcome and results from using this self tinning product on my soldering iron tips I often solder heavy gauge wire 8, 9 gauge. This requires high heat which causes oxidation. With a dip and a swirl of my soldering iron into this product, oxidation is gone and replaced with a very well tinned, soldering iron tip. I highly recommend it. It comes in a very small container but lasts a very long time. I dont use the product every time I need to re tin, only when oxidation is present. Rejuvenate those soldering iron tips that are oxidized and you thought were ruined but for some reason kept them anyway, like I did.
