I soldering aftermarket automotive lights for a living, this is the exact same tinner we use. It works very well to tin the tip, and to also help the solder flow. I highly recommend this tinner! I will be buying more.

It works well. The can is a bit deceiving and is small, however, it will last a while. I will be buying this again when I need it. Ive had good results from this cleaner/pre-tinner.

Yes, the container was a little difficult to open initially, but I dont close it too tightly, and can re-open it just fine. This tinner is really just powered solder and a dry, activated flux/cleaner. Its meant to restore and maintain oxidized and dirty tips. Its not a miracle worker, its not going to revive tips that have had their plating removed from use/neglect. I usually use this at the end of a soldering session with a blob on the tip to keep it covered during storage, since it is a no-clean flux it wont damage the plating. Finally, because it is a lead free product, your tip temperature is going to need to be 250degc+ to get this to melt and coat properly, So, if you are used to working with a mid-range lead alloy like Sn63Pb37, you will need 50degC+ more heat on your iron to tin it with this.

This tip tinner is amazing!!! I used the white sal-ammonia block solder iron cleaner prior to this and this beats by far, cleans easily, quickly and thoroughly. It’s doesn’t take a any physical effort like the sal-ammonia block either. I bought two more I was so happy with it.

This tinning paste works perfect, however, for the money, you dont get very much. If you look carefully at the description, it only contains 20 grams of product or .8 oz. The container is 1.5 inches diameter. Dont get me wrong, its not very much but it works great.

After I sanded out all the gunk of my tip I applied this and it made it look and feel like when I first got it.

I accidentally left my soldering iron on without tinning the tip. Used this product and the iron works like new.

Like everyone else said. This stuff is the bomb. Get it coming or your forever a loser that can’t solder correctly.

No one that solders with a iron should be without this.Old school people will not be caught dead without tinning the tip of their iron first.

Wasnt sure at first, but this makes a huge difference in maintaining a good clean tip on your soldering iron.
