Can achieve precise in-game head/gaze turning without pressing keyboard buttons or wearing a goggles. Easy hardware installation with magic tape and setup with software/driver download form Tobiis web site.

It is a complicated product to get a hang of but with some help from the discord and email correspondence with the tobii customer support i was easily worked through any issues

I think the device should lower the price a bit as it works for eye tracking function only, not even have camera function for streaming

Only con is the price. Very entertaining to use. Very discrete/not distracting. Very accurate. Fun for my YouTube channel. Simply works!

If you are planning on using the Tobii Tracker 5 with MSFS2020 be forwarned. This is not a good choice for flight simmers. The main problem is that Tobii software does not have a Freeze (or pause) function. All other trackers that I have provide a function known as Screen Freeze or Pause. When using a tracker in the cockpit, it is virtually impossible to hold your gaze completely steady while trying to use a mouse to turn knobs and dials and make other adjustments in the virtual cockpit. In addition to head/eye tracker movement, you also have on-screen movement simulating turbulence and other normal flying motions. When using this freeze function, you adjust your view using the tracker until you have a view of what you want to work on, then click the button or keystroke that is mapped to the Freeze function. Then you have a steady image frozen on the screen so you dont have to chase the hotspot around with your mouse. Click it again and it goes back to tracking. Now the Tobii Tracker 5 does have a function that disables tracking which is almost like freeze. The only major problem with it is that it doesnt freeze the view to what you were gazing at. Rather it resets the screen back to the default camera view of the entire cockpit, which is pretty much useless. Other than the inability to freeze the screen, this head/eye tracker is superior to the other trackers I have, regarding smoothness and accuracy. The initial setup was a bit of a debacle. The instructions say to simply plug the tracker into a USB and then it will automatically download and install Tobii Experience from the Windows Store. Tobii Experience is supposed to then automatically install the drivers and other software for the tracker. Unfortunately for me, none of this happened. I ended up manually installing everything. The calibration was easy but the instructions were not very clear. You dont have to worry about making a lot of adjustments. There are only about 7 sliders that can even be adjusted in the whole thing, and they are all in the MSFS Controls Sensitivity options. That is not necessarily a bad thing, though. The other trackers have so many adjustment settings that you can easily get things severely screwed up. Bottomline.... Tobii Track 5 is a very good tracker as far as tracking goes, but the inability to freeze the screen makes this close to useless for a Flight Simulator.

had issues. would freeze for 30/40 seconds, would not always turn on. even tried different USB ports. some time it would work with my glasses on sometimes it wouldnt. very un-predictable. would run trouble shooter. would not find anything then would find and would give error code. I went back to my Tracker IR 5

I use this for American truck simulator. Its a little weird getting used to it, but when you do its pretty awesome. The mounting system could be improved. I ended up gluing 2 magnets to the back of it and then stuck it on the bottom of my monitor with no issues.

If you have a bit of money to burn and want to take your flight sim setup to the next level, then eyetracking/headtracking is the way to go. Ive enjoyed this over TrackIR since this has nothing you have to wear. Which means its usable with speakers rather than headphones if you wish. It works in a variety of games (quite surprising honestly) and it works as a windows hello camera. The issues Ive had with it are the monitor mount. Firstly, they dont recommend using it with a monitor that has a nipple control on the bottom center. Which makes no sense considering most high end monitors HAVE one. It seems to work okay. But adjustments may need to be made. Secondly, the cord coming out the side is incredibly annoying. A USB-C cable with connectors to the side and back of the Tobii would make for a MUUCH nicer experience both with aesthetics and cable management.

If you fly in DCS, or flight SIMs just go with the TrackIR 5. I have both. The Ui for the Tobii Eye tracker is horrible. You cant change your end point without changing the sensitivity. Its like the two are tethered. Using the actual eye tracking for flying is a nightmare. Your screen flys around. When you look at a point on the screen the screen moves to that spot. Well, when the screen moves your eyes chase that point and it gives your vision a rubber band feel. I contacted Tobii. They gave me a contact of someone on discord (dont remember his name) that has been working on this. Ive used his profile to make it someone usable.

Treid this with my LG C1 48 OLED and it is definitely too big. I also have glasses and that may have impacted the tracking, but I couldnt get this to function as well as I wanted. I am also fairly sensitive to input lag, and this certainly had a noticeable amount. This could definitely be because of the big display + distance I was sitting from it, but Ive heard other users mention input lag as a turn-off for this product. Overall, its really neat and I wish I could use it! Hopefully a future version supports bigger displays and lower processing time / input lag.
